And it begins, the most anticipated Cubs season ever. The Cubs are so awesome that they made us start super late because they don't want the eastern half of the country to be too jealous of our awesomeness already.

If I had time and photoshop skills this is where the cool gif of the Cubs lineup being assembled in Voltron form would be. Instead you have to deal with my lameness and rely on the funny people on the board to contribute below.

Anyways the Cubs lineup is awesome, the Cubs manager is awesome, the Cubs bench is awesome, the Cubs starters are awesome, the Cubs pen is awesome, the Cubs front office is awesome, the Cubs stadium is awesome. Everything is awesome so let us all discuss how awesome the Cubs are at everything until the first time Lester gives up a hit and 75% of the board turns on them.

Go Cubs! #wearegood

Good place for the Cardinals, no?

So I keep debating in my mind whether I should go to Arizona later this week or not... Should I at least do cursory research on how much a game + detour to the Grand Canyon would cost or not?

My wife and I combined an AFL trip [back when Bryant and Soler were there (plus Russell!)] with Sedona and the Grand Canyon. It was good fun.

Chase Field is annoying but these Cubs are well worth it. We went there for the first time last season for the Cubs visit. My wife actually double barrel flicked off annoying Dbag fans in front of us who were talking trash (and then they left meekly when Rizzo crushed them to oblivion). I love how salty home fans get when Cubs fans are overwhelmingly loud.

Going into the season, the Cub on the active roster with the longest major league tenure is Anthony Rizzo.

The Cub that has been in the organization the longest is Matt Szczur.

Explain that first sentence. There's plenty of players on the Cubs that have been in the major leagues longer than Rizzo.

Longest Cub major league tenure. Szczur has been with the organization longer, but Rizzo has been on the major league team longer.

Travis Wood?

Looks like the Cubs traded for him in December 2011, but he wasn't called up to the majors until May 2012. Rizzo was traded for in Jan 2012, and called up late June 2012, so unless I'm missing something, you're right.

EDIT: Yep.
