Right now, we're scheduled to begin our season on Monday. That means that people who have an opening day starter on Sunday don't get that start. In the past, we've run an 8 day period to begin the year. Should we do that this time or just leave it beginning on Monday?

Start Sunday

Sunday it is. I'd recommend we stick with seven starts for the week since there's a bunch of off days and only three mlb games on Sunday.

Alright, we're set.

For the newbies...In case it wasn't clear, this is a daily league. You can make changes to your lineup each and every day to maximize your points. However, you cannot exceed more than seven pitching starts in a week.

If you have questions, please ask!

So people could finalize their rosters by Saturday. Didn't want the mess of having people add free agents that were eligible for the prospect draft while it was still going. May not matter but whatever.

so i posted on saturday that i was drafting kapralien (sp?) from the yankees, and that post is gone, did someone delete it? was he not available to be picked? or did someone add him after i should have drafted him?

Can anyone find the thread in the archives where we agreed to the points penalty? I'm pretty sure adam and steve were discussing it. It was something about losing your best start, best hitter, or percentage of points. Need to figure out what to dock from Todd this week.

Thanks

are you talking about someone going over their 7 starts? pretty sure they lose their best start. that seems pretty fair.

i've said this before but i hate that rule because it often plays out that schedules get changed on Sundays and a team gets unduly penalized for it

just get rid of the starts that put you over 7, or the better of the starts that day

no, this is having too many players on your team for 2 days. agreed on the taking away best start for going over 7.

he's getting his ass kicked so it may not matter this week but i thought there was a discussion about this last year or the year before.

nope. i know the sunday start thing has happened, but it's not frequent at all. maybe once or twice all last season? if you go over 7, you lose your best start.

they all are which is why i enforce them arbitrarily against people i don't like, say for example, michigan fans, more harshly than others under the guise of applying the spirit of the rules.

Chuck has to step away from his team due to a personal tragedy. I'm not really sure what we can do with it for the rest of this year but I guess we can jointly manage it until he can come back. No trades, we'll just make simple roster moves and FA moves to give his team the best chance to win each week.

Sound fair?

That sounds good to me.

horsefeathers, I forgot to change my starters before the games started today. I was like 5 minutes late. So I am going to have 9 starts this week. I guess it's fine though since I'm going to lose regardless.
