University of Tennessee football coach Butch Jones told one of his players he “betrayed the team” after the wide receiver helped a woman who said she was raped by two other football players, according to a new legal filing in a sweeping lawsuit filed by six women against Tennessee.

 

Sophomore Drae Bowles “broke down and cried” after speaking with his coach, the lawsuit said.

 

Jones later called Bowles back to apologize for calling him “a traitor to the team,” according to the suit.

 

The new legal filing is the latest in the ongoing federal lawsuit that has brought renewed scrutiny to UT’s athletics department. Also on Wednesday, two new women claiming they were also sexually assaulted by football players joined the lawsuit.

Harbaugh is entertaining. Honestly, I hope that Dantonio can keep MSU chugging along at a good pace. College football would be much more entertaining if both Michigan and Sparty were really good at the same time for a few yrs.

Yeah, I think that division of the big ten is going to be really tough for a good while here. For any of the other teams in there, you have to best Michigan State, Michigan, and Ohio State just for the right to go to the big ten championship game. That's a tough slough.

Illinois has a damn good amount of high school players every year. I've always wondered why Illinois didn't do better. I would think this will change things especially as regards recruiting.

Northwestern notre dame Iowa Wisconsin Michigan do a good job picking them off while a lot try to get better climates. Plus no sane person desires to be in central Illinois

i honestly dont know what to expect out of him as a recruiter. for it being march 5th/6th, he's a great name to get, but i really have a hard time seeing connecting with recruits/younger players.

No it isn't. Those announcements will always get leaked before communicated "properly" internally. There's no way around it.
