Sounders are the first team in the conference finals after dispatching of Vancouver, who basically had no interest in attempting to score goals in either leg.

Very gratifying to see Clint Dempsey having fun playing soccer again.

Not quite sure how I feel about that beard though.

He's less sexy, but I think I enjoy watching Roldan play more than the DPs on that team. He is so good at everything.

Bobby Wood is in a "negative spiral" and probably facing an uphill climb back into the lineup for Hamburg.

Yedlin's first game back for Newcastle after T&T was sketchy. He should've been sent off twice. Only poor officiating saved him. Deuce had the meltdown throwing elbows and got red in his first game back. Jozy & Bradley are getting booed everywhere they go, but they seem to be handling it well. Not a surprise as those two are supremely classy and have been through the wars in their time in Europe.

Nevermind.

Nashville Metro city council approved the MLS stadium deal. Fingers crossed we get one of the expansion teams!

Bought season tix for next year's inaugural USL season, looking forward to that. This would be ideal though, for sure, as it puts me towards the front of the line for potential MLS season tix.

They're getting a team, and also, me.

Looks like I'm probably moving to Nashville early next year. I look forward to hitting you up for tickets if I can't get on the season ticket list.

Love and light to my dutch, italian, chilean, and ghanaian brothers and sisters. Peace (and the club game) be with you.

Obviously in terms of stature and the void felt by the world at the world cup, we are not Holland and Italy. Still, I hate seeing dudes like Clint Dempsey and Gigi Buffon go out like this.

We're 20 minutes in and the Acosta-McKennie-Adams midfield is playing the Tab Ramos high press and they look great doing it. Like wolves around a wounded deer.

Annnnd McKennie scores. Nice.

Gtfoh.

I'll watch tho.

The NIT of soccer. I would assume FIFA would throw a fit about this happening the same year as the actual World Cup?

USA

Italy

Ghana

Chile

Ivory Coast

Netherlands

Paraguay

Czech Republic

Would be a fun tournament even though even if the USMNT gets housed. US recoups a fraction of the money they will lose for not making the WC, and Pulisic gets some national team tournament experience against top teams in UEFA, CONMEBOL and CAF.

Of COURSE the hobbled Altidore scores a goal

And Bradley turned full heel on the entire city of Columbus, a city in which he has had some of the best & worst performances of his life for the US, and completely dominates the game almost single-handedly.

I look forward to another single digit temp final in Toronto between TFC and Seattle. Hopefully with Dempsey healthy they'll actually manage a shot on goal.

Current forecast is for a balmy 30 degrees at kickoff!

I'm trying not to get ahead of the game tonight, but I'm really excited to see a fully operational Seattle team take on one of the league's best. Between not adding Leerdam and Rodriguez til summer and the international absences/injuries with Morris/Dempsey, they haven't had an our best v. their best situation, save for a bunch of games against Vancouver who doesn't really count anyway.

Their attacking chemistry has been so damn fragile since Lodeiro came. When it's right, they're the best. When it's not, they're mediocre. He's one of the best in the league, but they've struggled to find good spacing when he, Deuce, and Morris all play, so I'm thinking even if Morris is healthy, they stick with Bruin up top and use JM as a change of pace sub.

Yeah, I doubt Morris is gonna be healthy enough to go 90. I imagine he'll get 25-30 minutes tonight to run the back line into the ground and hopefully burn off the game, then he'd be fine for a similar appearance plus extra time in the final.
