I know you’re just throwing out a random hypothetical, but I believe if Norway and Italy end up in the same group, the Pot 1 team would have to be either Brazil, Argentina or one of the three host nations since 3 European teams can’t be in the same group.

If I understand the draw rules correctly, from Pot 4, we'll be unable to draw Curacao, Haiti or either International Playoff winner since both contain CONCACAF teams. Which means there's a 50-50 chance we get a UEFA team from that Pot. That doesn't seem ideal.

In practice unless we're fortunate enough to draw UEFA teams in Pot 2 and 3, it's worse than that.  Because if we draw a CAF team(2 in Pot 2, 5 in Pot 3) then Cape Verde and Ghana go off the table(67% chance of UEFA playoff), and same with AFC(Jordan, 57%).  So basically the best case, if narrow, scenario is to get Austria/Scotland so we can lock in a true minnow in Pot 4.  On the other end of the spectrum you could end up with a nightmare like Morocco/Norway/Italy

I guess one positive is Mexico is just as likely to get a nightmare group as we are.

Guess we just have to root for upsets in the UEFA playoffs then to decrease our chances of a nightmare group.

1. Comes out after a ball when he doesn't necessarily need to.
2. Tries to pass to a teammate while falling down rather than just booting the ball out of bounds or up the field.
3. Jogs back to the goal after getting back up (might not make a save anyway but doesn't look good).

First time we got a group with Egypt, Jordan and Austria, finished 3rd and went out to England in the R32. That would be a bad result.

Maybe I'm misremembering (or I just tuned in later) but I swear the 2022 draw happened a lot quicker. I seem to remember recording it, starting it late assuming I could fast forward, but checked in here and people were like "the draw is starting already".
