it's not just me . . .

"Unfortunately there weren't many more positives to glean from Sunday's clash, which once again saw a grand "Big Six" battle fail to deliver much in the way of memorable entertainment.

Indeed, the Premier League's so-called Big Six of (in alphabetical order) Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have produced quite a number of forgettable bore-fests so far this season, with well-drilled teams laden with world-class talent successfully nullifying each another again and again."

lmao Geoff Cameron remains a terrible influence on young christian

I wonder if it is possible to watch sports in the current political environment? The USWNT?

The USWNT?

I meannnnn

Honestly a lot of the WNT's activism is largely performative, highly marketable, and extremely lightweight. I think people like Megan Rapinoe mean extremely well, but totally ignore underlying economic causes because it's convenient and profitable. Their activism is all too often facilitated as a branding exercise for companies like Nike and Budweiser. If you want to be cynical you can find plenty to dislike about their politics if you're hardcore enough and scrutinize it similarly to LeBron's admirable BLM activism paired with his complete sabotage of any meaningful conversation around anti-democratic behavior in china because one is good for his bank account and one is bad.

As a leftist UFC fan, I long ago learned to separate the art from the artists. Not that it doesn't turn my stomach to find out CP is a maga [expletive]. I'll just give him credit for being explicitly apolitical in 99.9% of his public interactions. At least he didn't actively promote qanon or Trump.

Would I like to see Gio Reyna in a Green New Deal t shirt, smoking a joint, and flipping off a paparazzi? Of course I would.

Do I want Weston McKennie to join DSA? Yes.

Would I love Rose Lavelle to go on [expletive] Town? of course.

Do i wish Chris Richards had phone banked for Marquita Bradshaw? you know it.

Do I want Michael Bradley to be a weird Elizabeth Warren die hard who I could have yelled at for sabotaging Bernie in the primary? Absolutely.

Would it be cool if Oguchi Onyewu had been really into Occupy back in the day? hell yah

Should Alex Morgan have been at the standing rock barricade? you know it

Would it have been cooler if Hope Solo had been arrested for defacing a seattle development that was pricing out locals instead of beating up her husband that one time? duh

Do I hope that Mark McKenzie is a street fight radio patreon supporter? definitely.

do I wish Tim Weah was an AOC reply guy but in the positive way? hell yes

would it be cool if jesse marsch was a radical labor organizer who isn't afraid to fight dirty? yeah probably

Is Eugene Debs Bob Bradley's personal hero? Probably not but it would be cool as hell if he was

I mean, the world is a shitty place full of shitty people but I don't want to get too depressed. Just not repugnant might be good enough for me.

Yeah it would be great not to have thoughts about how I think I could beat CP up if I saw him at a maga riot, but I definitely could. He's obviously way faster than me, but I outweigh him by 100 pounds and his lower body is made of papier mache so I think I could take him.

Unfortunately I know that will pop into my brain while I'm "rooting" for him at some point because of my own political resentment and anger issues.

"Over the course of their 21-game winning streak, Man City have outscored their opponents by a staggering 55 goals to just eight allowed."

a year ago they had a 2 year champions league ban and were gonna have to sell off sterling to stay afloat. you hate to see this

jarring watching a side actually try to score goals, something i was led to believe was outlawed

Daryl Dike ragdolled another defender for a goal. Unfortunately it was not Geoff Cameron, it was the other CB.

He's a terrifying physical specimen for this sport. I would love to see him beating up a concacaf backline while our fast guys play off of him.

They’re not even scoring at that great of a rate either. Only on pace for 79 goals. Last three years was 102, 95, 106.

More dumb handball calls.

Spurs defender kicks the ball and hits a Fulham players arm that’s literally right by his side. Fulham scores right after but the goal is ruled out. He didn’t move his arm towards the ball at all. Arm is in a natural position. And if his arm was straight up in the air, the ball hits his hip and nothing about the play changes.

Current handball rule is so dumb.

I think the inconsistency is what really sucks

i think the mount slander (libel?) is so dumb. You've now had two Chelsea coaches consistently rate him, as does Southgate. Tuchel is playing Ziyech, who has done less than nothing this year, ahead of Pulisic. Mount has nothing to with him and he's consistently Chelsea's best player going forward.

counterpoint: Mount could hit a 30 yard screamer in every game for the rest of his life and I will still think of him as a tryhard muppet
