About a month ago I took the family to a Chicago Fire game. Did not measure up to the experience you guys had in Seattle.

The Fire don't even belong in the same league as the Sounders. Horribly run franchise.

Went on a stadium tour at White Hart Lane and they had the following picture of Klinsmann getting barrelled over by some goalie while he was with Spurs. Thought some here would enjoy it.

Spoilered for size.

We went to DC United last year and it was great. No one in my family follows soccer except me but we all enjoyed it.

Honestly, after that Fire game, if I'm gonna get my family to go to another soccer game it's likely gonna need to be USMNT or USWNT.

The problem is that the Fire and Fire games are terrible. Bad team, bad match day atmosphere.

Looks like Leicester should have probably improved their centerback pairing as opposed to buying two starting strikers during the window. Huth and Morgan are bad without Kante screening them.

Chelsea looked terrible today. I know they were on the road but at no point in the game did they control the action for any extended period of time. Poor defense (Courtois had no chance on any of the three goals) and very little going forward. At least in the Liverpool game they controlled the last 30ish minutes (after scoring the goal). They just had nothing today.

In US minor league soccer news, There are lots of rumors and reports that NASL will fold after this season.

NASL let the Cosmos owners talk them into trying to punch far above their weight. Big mistake.

JoMo with a brace today including a composed left footed finish. Big 3 points for Seattle today.

I can't believe they won in LA, in 90+ degrees, without Deuce.

LA's midfield looked pretty damn weak for the first time in a long time. Usually they play Seattle and unless Clint (or Oba) went off they won because their midfield just won every individual matchup.

If Seattle get Clint back (big if, though; i think he's done) they'll be very dangerous in the playoffs.

This just shows how inept the FA is. There have been stories floating around Allardyce for a few years. There were a ton of rumors about Ravel Morrison refusing to sign with Allardyce (and West Ham captain Mark Noble's) agent in a kickback scheme after Allardyce and Noble pestering him about it.

Morrison refused and Sam froze him out and eventually cut him loose.

Tony Pulis has the same stuff out there about him.

He's gonna get fired.

-Allardyce out as England manager

-Seattle has shut Dempsey down for the year, meaning he's not playing in the first two Hex games. Even money he retires.

Uh oh, Spurs beat Man City in convincing fashion.

Great performance all around. Controlled the entire first half and played well with the lead in the second.

The depth is what stands out as the difference from last year. No Kane, Dembele or Dier in the starting lineup? No problem. Insert whichever two of Son/Sissoko/Erickson/Alli/Lamela that wouldn't have started as well as Wanyama. Last year, they didn't have that squad depth and it showed. When Spurs were down, they didn't have much to bring off the bench. It was basically whichever of Erickson/Lamela/Son/Alli didn't start. No extra forward to pair with Kane.

I don't know if this team will mount a real title challenge but it's clear that last year was not a fluke. Best start since the 1960-61 season. The defense is still one of the best in the league and the offense can score goals.
