I saw Ball State's HC is resigning to be an assistant at Maryland. Does this happen a lot? I find it a little odd that a head coach would resign to be an assistant for a rookie head coach at a bottom tier Big Ten school.

CMU's coach resigned last year to be a coordinator at Arkansas, and 2 other small conference schools have followed that path since 2013, but it's still unusual.

 

What Lembo and CMU's coach have in common is that they were probably on thin ice the following year if they had stayed.

Not really. I still think he could be a great college QB if he could put aside all the BS, but the kid is tiny. Probably no more than 5'9". He was projected as a possible first round MLB pick this year.

I could too, if I was him my preference would be towards the other two though. No idea who has dad prefers given his connections to the state. Plus living in Lubbock would really suck.

That was a fun little sequence in the GoDaddy bowl. Bowling Green had a 4th and 1 with a bad snap and botched scramble by the QB that ended in a 45 yard TD pass. Then GA Southern blocked the PAT and returned it for 2.

What the actual hell, kid? He has been given bad advice since day one. You aren't an elite football prospect. You will never be a pro football player. However, you ARE an outstanding baseball prospect. He likely would have been a first rounder last year. Now, just admit to that mistake, go to a baseball JUCO for the spring and enter the May draft.

I think the problem is he has only played a couple of months of baseball the past 18 months and was hurt for part of that. Didn't really participate in the showcases either. He might be better off now getting in 2 years of D1 baseball now.

 

I think the fault is all his own with his uncle working for Scott Boras. I doubt he was pushing him towards football when he was graded as an 80 for speed and in the 50-60 range for his bat and defense. Could become an elite 2nd baseman or CF.

That targetting call against Nebraska was actually the worst one I think I've seen yet. Why not just make it flag football? If that play merits ejection then just take everyone's pads and helmets off and make it non-contact.

I wasn't aware that targeting/ejection was on the board but thought it was clearly a penalty for helmet to helmet. If I was a juror the penalty would have affected my decision.
