Aren't umps supposed to get constant feedback after every game? [expletive], how does he not yet know what the strike zone is.

Whoever described Russell as always looking calm and terrified at the same time was so right. Good example there. Slips and throws the ball in a panic/hurry right to Rizzo's chest to get Cervelli by 3 steps.

I think it says basically that humans are not able to consistently judge balls and strikes correctly. Some are a lot better than others but overall they cannot have 100% accuracy. Plus umps are unintentionally influenced by external factors like the home crowd, the reputation of the pitcher, etc
