I wanted to say that it feels like we barely get big hits with the bases loaded, but we actually have a .810 OPS with the bags full.

Shocking on both accounts.

"hey everybody i was going to say something patently wrong, but then i looked it up and realized how completely wrong i would have been"

Glad to see an effort to improve my kneejerk tendencies is met with ridicule.

My bad. I shouldn't have met it with ridicule. In fact, things would be much more pleasant if you continued to do so in the future. So me doing that was Busch League and to my own detriment.

Thank you. ^_^ I'm honestly trying to improve my posting habits.

Hammel apologists, where are you? Can't even get into the 6th against Milwaukee.

Are those a thing? Other than maybe arguing he's still our best option as a #3 starter in the playoffs?

Maybe if the Cubs defense didn't commit 3 errors his pitch count would be a lot lower and he wouldn't have given up 4 runs (2 earned).

I'm not happy with how Hammel has pitched but all in all he is having a decent enough start. Not what you'd expect for a 3rd starter on a playoff team but not a terrible start overall

Yeah, I apologize. I was being an ass. My only complaint with you is the knee-jerk reaction stuff. You're no ARCubsFan.

agreed. i honestly like almost everyone on here even if they are infuriating at times.

at least the ones that appear to be cubs fans...

Hint: The people who get upset about hysterical shrieking over every negative event that happens in a game are not automatically of the complete opposite opinion. Maybe they just hate hysterical shrieking.

Hammel has been very meh his last six starts (not including tonight): ERs: 5, 2, 3, 4, 3, 4. IPs: 3, 6.1, 5, 5, 6, 3.2. These are numbers I'd expect from a number four starter, not our game three starter in the playoffs.

Hammel looked awful all game even when he was getting outs, everything was hit hard. He has a 5.40 ERA since the All Star Break which would be bad in the steroid era.

Same here. I'm just an [expletive] sometimes. I don't know why... because it's the internet, I guess. It's nice to be part of a community of like-minded people, though.

Rondon Fan, if you need an example of hysterical shrieking, this is one example.

you're wrong. there is an army of people on here that think hammel is the best pitcher in baseball.

christ, rondon fan. i was easily his biggest fan here tonight and i said that i only wanted him pitching because he's our best option. your boy richard could have given up 10 for all we know. or he could have been pitching a perfect game. i'd take the money on the former, myself. but it doesn't matter. you're intentionally bringing up posts and calling out people that were pulling for and celebrating cubs players doing good things on the baseball field.

I think we've had a breakthrough guys

ARCubsFan, we all know that Hammel has largely sucked in the second-half. You don't have to explain it. I called you out in the second inning because you called for the bullpen after an error. He's actually been somewhat decent tonight, though. 1 BB, 6K. The homer hurt him, sure. But, he's also had to get three extra outs tonight.

He's given up 4 runs in 5 innings to a Brewers lineup that is probably the worst in baseball
