And just as I was getting ready to call Auburn the most overrated team in the nation, they tumble in the rankings. Pretty rare, but totally justified.

ND is probably going down, but the more I think about it the less worried I am about DeShone Kizer at QB (the guy has a lot of talent - offers from Alabama and several other elite programs - and has only 3 fewer starts than Malik Zaire). ND will lose this week because of the defense I think. I'll be at the game so I hope I'm wrong.

Ole Miss will once again be without Laremy Tunsil at LT. It looks as if he is getting a self-imposed 4-6 game suspension for an "impermissible benefit." The NCAA hasn't made a ruling yet, but Ole Miss doesn't want to play a possibly ineligible player for obvious reasons. Just sucks. I really wish we could have 100% Bama vs. 100% Ole Miss on Saturday.

http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/13673398/ole-miss-rebels-expect-offensive-tackle-laremy-tunsil-several-more-games-ncaa-investigation-potential-rules-violations

Tunsil, a 6-foot-5, 305-pound junior, did not play in the Rebels' first two games. Sources told ESPN.com that the sticking point is a loaner vehicle Tunsil received from Cannon Motors in Oxford, Mississippi, while his car was in the repair shop. Tunsil allegedly kept that loaner vehicle for an extended period of time before returning it to the dealership, and the NCAA has deemed it an extra benefit.

All that said, even without Tunsil, I think it's gonna be a great game on Saturday. It'll be fascinating to see how Chad Kelly handles stiff opposition. So far he has led 15 drives at QB and Ole Miss has scored touchdowns on 13 of them. That was against greatly inferior opponents, but still, he is ridiculously sharp. I haven't seen an Ole Miss QB make those types of throws since Eli was there. Kelly may even have a stronger arm.

They shouldn't be ranked at all

No one should. Preseason rankings are stupid.

Television contracts will be the reason that it never happens, but I'd love to see no polls released until Week 3 has been completed, at the earliest.

Week 6 is the earliest it makes sense

Texas A&M very unimpressive today. Not happy at all. We better get our [expletive] together before Arkansas next week.

Arkansas seems to suck. Don't think I'd be very worried there.

Auburn getting throat punched today. They're just not good, and Johnson is an absolute dumpster fire.

Ideally, I'd wait until first week of October. I do think networks like having those rankings for marketing, and I don't have a problem with teams having 4 weeks to tell us at least something about their teams.
