Giants lead 3-0 over the Pirates. Marlon Byrd homers in his first AB with the Giants.

Cardinals @ Padres later

tonight it isn't really a problem but i have this irrational expectation that marlon byrd is gonna rake for them and piss me off for the next 6 weeks

Wendy Thurm bitching about the travel of west coast teams versus everyone else got a bit of blowback.

That was a really dumb thing to tweet. When one division has the 2 best teams and 3 of the best 4 in it, you probably shouldn't be whining about what's "fair" as far as schedule sequence.

Besides this is just the payback for that absurd stretch of teams we faced a couple months ago.

No matter what happens tonight, the Cubs will be closer to the PIrates than the Giants at the end of the night.

also bitching about luck coming from a fan of a team that has won the spin of the postseason wheel 3 times in the last 5

Fiers no-hitter through 7. If Giants hold on and Dodgers lose I would imagine that there will be 3 NL Central teams with playoff odds above 90% and nobody else in the NL will be above 90%.*

It's actually not that far-fetched the following teams all miss the playoffs. Considering what predictions were in Spring Training...

Nationals

Dodgers

Padres

Angels

Mariners

Tigers

Indians

White Sox

Red Sox

If the Angels and Orioles don't make the playoffs all 15 ESPN experts will have chosen an AL pennant winner that did not make the playoffs.

Pretty close. Cubs are 89.4 right now.
