Francisco Garay.....Name to watch for us in the future. May need to get the K's down a bit though. Has 96 of them of them in 198 at bats. Does have 13 walks and a nice line of .126/.190/.146 on the season.

I think this may defeat Carlos Henry for our worst player of all time.

I noticed him awhile ago. He also has 32 errors in 61 games, mostly at SS and 3B -- good for a .860% Fielding %.

Ian Happ went 2-3 with a BB and 3B.

weren't some people wringing their hands about him early on? turns out he can hit.

his strikeout rate in A ball is concerning to me but i'm willing to give him until next year

Javy is 2-3 with a double so far. It's his sixth consecutive multi-hit game.

And then whiff, whiff, whiff.

By his first K, the score was 11-2; I have to wonder if by that point, he was simply trying to knock every pitch into orbit for the sake of doing so.

Did Scioscia's kid ever play for us? Or did we just outright release him?

Didn't we trade him to the Angels or something?

Or did we trade for him as a favor to them? There was something weird like that. I think Trevor Gretzky was involved.

Yeah, we traded Trevor Gretzky for him. Pretty sure that's what you were getting at. Nothing to see here.

I believe Scioscia's kid was released in spring, or really early in the season.

Jeffrey Baez's continued hot run has been a nice surprise. I mean, that line (.354/.370/.551) is ridiculous. Of course, it's balanced by that first half line.

Reminds me a bit of when Logan Watkins would go on these really amazing 2nd half runs after sub-par first halves. Of course, Baez has a better individual tool than Watkins ever had (Baez's power). Will be very, very curious how Myrtle Beach goes for Baez next year. To be quite honest, I really wouldn't be against the quick bump up now to get him into the post-season, but I don't expect that to happen.
