I get that, but its still bad luck when the BABIP is higher than average, or at least their own average. In another world he pitches the same and those slow grounders go right to defenders. But yeah by virtue of giving up more contact, there will be more overall situations where the ball finds a hole.

Hendricks' BABIP against after today is .303. It's more likely that bad luck victimizes him because he has more opportunities as a guy with fewer swings and misses, but he's not less lucky on the whole.
