Garza'a going to suddenly think he's good again, isn't he? Just don't pitch to Affliction and we should be Ok anyway.

bad pitchers pitch better vs. the cubs than good pitchers .lol

Bryant also has the 4th lowest Contact % amongst qualified hitters at 65.6% and 3rd lowest Z-Contact (75.6%). He's particularly bad in the bottom part of the zone and pitchers have been taking advantage.

do you think the kid lost his confidence? (KB)

No, he's probably just going through an adjustment period; it's relatively rare when rookies don't have at least a month or two in their first year where they don't struggle, sometimes mightily. I'm sure it's frustrating as hell, but there's little reason to chalk it up to something as nebulous as lost confidence when it's pretty obvious pitchers are just currently exploiting his contact issues when it comes to the lower half of the zone.

hopefully the umpires will

he's gotten rung up on so many [expletive] change ups and sliders at his knees, I dont think Im being too biased in saying that. fowler has too.

Man our division/league is really screwing us this year. If we were in the AL we'd be tied for the top Wild Card spot and 2 games up on the next team. If we were in the NL East we'd be in first place, if we were in the NL West we'd be 2.5 out of first.

So basically if we were in any of the other 5 divisions, our playoff odds would be considerably higher and the opportunity to win the division might have caused us to be more aggressive at the deadline.

The Pirates are extremely vulnerable right now, though. They should've lost again yesterday and are now without Burnett. We have some favorable pitching match ups in that upcoming series at PNC which is all kinds of huge.

Which just reiterates how anyone who thinks the Cubs' chances of doing anything in the playoffs are nil should be catapulted into the sun.
