Christ Coomer is brutal.

No, no.... That's Ron Coomer. ;)

If Ron Coomer is the Messiah, we have much bigger problems than his crappy announcing.

Fowler's OBP entering the day on July 12 was .303. 11 games and 3 PAs later, it's up to .330. This is the guy they traded for.

I still can't believe that Bryant fly ball didn't go out. Super high, 80 power, wind blowing out..

Let's get Starlin on that plan now.

Grimm pitching in the 6th inning down by 4 runs doesn't make me feel confident that his role will be changing.

How the hell did they fail THIS badly to construct a good offense? Wasn't that what they were focusing on above all else?

Like 2, maybe 3 guys have hit their 50% projections. There are various reasons and places for blame as to why that happened, that's the how.

Think about all the young guys we had appear for the offense in 2014:

Baez, Soler, Rizzo, Castro, Alcantara. Zero out of the five are having better years in 2015 than they did in 2014.

Mix up the lineup, bat the pitcher 9th for crying out loud. Trotting out the same lineup day in day out hasn't been working. Maddon needs to try something else other than just giving good vibes.

Because it's not only the rookies who have sucked this year. Most of the establish vets are struggling as well

I know, that's kind of the point; when this many things go wrong it seems like it's either throwing up our hands and saying, "oh those Cobs" or something's not working.

I'm not saying they're hopeless, this season or going forward. It's just very, very frustrating.

Look at it this way: there's nothing uncommon about a 22-23 year old rookie being called up and playing everyday. More often than not, they're going to have their ups and downs; a learning experience. We have 4 of those in our everyday lineup. So yeah, there's a whole lot of learning going on. And it's painful to watch. But it's infinitely more valuable than sending them to Iowa to tee-off against a bunch of junk ballers.

As for the established veterans, Fowler's been breaking out of his slump lately and Coghlan's been mostly consistant.

Then there's Castro, who's pretty much trying to survive a dead season, and Rizzo's who's stuck in a major slump. And I know it's easy forget when you look at their lofty credentials, but these guys are both at an age when most guys are just staring to establish themselves in the league, so they too are going to experience growing pains.

You realize, of course, that Maddon has used 71 distinct and unique lineups in 99 games ?
