Look, I'm no legal...law...talking...guy, but that this seemingly is out there because someone took pictures of his medical info seems super sketchy. Isn't there some legal risk for someone involved with that?

Much discussion about that on twitter. Whoever took the pic and gave/sold it to ESPN clearly violated HIPAA. ESPN/Schefter aren't in legal trouble, but definitely ethical trouble. They could have just reported the info without showing the pic.

My wife does HIPPA compliance, and as I understand it, HIPPA doesn't create a private cause of action for this type of disclosure. But yeah that hospital or doctor could be in deep regulatory [expletive] for that getting out.
