Zobrist. He allows us to get Castro out of the lineup and not make him a full time player but also play LF/RF on other days and helps strengthen the bench/add versatility.

Eh; too old and the recent injury history makes me not a fan. Plus it seems like they'll be bringing Baez up as soon as they can. I'm still not all that optimistic about him, but it sure seems like he's who the organization is banking on replacing Castro.

Plus he grew up a big Cardinal fan.

Seriously though, why did we get a rush of troll Cardinals fans? Some 13 year olds from GRB get a wild hair up their ass and come over here to tell us they [expletive] our moms or something and report back?

because a lot of fans like schadenfreude and came here to read some and instead saw us talking about how their fans are yokels and outwardly wishing their players would die. So they got all worked up and responded. Because they are little brother of a city and think that having a more successful baseball team justifies their decision to live in a backwater city. Because they are pissed their football team is leaving, their hockey team choked in the first round again while their rivals won another Cup and have nothing else to turn to but their baseball team as a source of pride. Because they are overly defensive after their team got caught blatantly cheating. Lots of reasons really

It's the the price you pay for not being a useless POS team like the Reds or Brewers. "Fans" from other teams will come here and give you [expletive].

If the Cubs where the same crap team they've been for the last half decade, trolls wouldn't bother. Take it as a compliment.

For some reason I feel Baez is the chip the organization most wants to trade. He wasn't their pick, and he isn't exactly the type of player they look to draft. They aren't giving him away or anything, of course.

Well, he's one of us back road conservative Christians. Can't imagine anyone would someone like to play for the Cubs.

You could say the same about Castro. Of course, the big difference is that Castro has had sustained success at the MLB level...but he's got some worrying trends that have been going on for a while.

Honestly, I kinda want to trade both of them at this point.

It seems like most pro athletes end up at least being superficially pretty conservative/religious. Meh.

Now we're talking

Might as well go big. You add those two to the pile of assets they can move and maybe they can get back both a big arm and a big bat when all is said and done.

So annoying that this will probably knock Hammel out forcing the game in the hands of a very taxed pen that has had to pitch 6+ innings twice in the past week.

You want to trade both right now...........and I can't say for sure that they don't want to as well.

They get to move Russell to short, and get some nice things (hopefully) back for the pair in different trades. Would have to fill 2B, but whatever. They would find a way. Maybe give Alcantra another chance.

CUBS are 14-3 (.824) when they score in the first inning.... 25-31 (.446) when they don't

Go CUBS !!

What is the Cubs' record when Rizzo takes 25 steps to reach the batter's box versus when he takes 27?

I guarantee it's better than the CUBS record when guido911 makes one too many smart-ass trolling comments and gets his sorry ass banned from NSBB.

Quit worrying about my ass. You're creeping me out big boy. And getting banned? You gonna tell mommy?

Tarp off. Shooting for a 9:55 CT start.

Hammel going back to the bullpen to warm up. Ditto Martinez.

How does "not so much" possibly make any kind of sense to what I said.
