Ahh I knew when I joined this forum I'd be dealing with 90% Cubs homers and 10% people who actually understand baseball. Why can't people step back and lose bias when it comes to talking baseball. I LOVE seeing the Cubs win as much as anyone but I'm REALISTIC.

David the robot is like the only person here who has said this team is likely to end more than a few games above .500 when all is said and done and half of that was due to him eating a bad RAM chip. Relax.

lol what

so wrong on so many counts

Look, you're drunk on oil or human blood or something tonight, so just calm down. It's weird when you're like this.

not sure what you think you jumped into but you're jumping on the wrong side

So, wait - we're arguing projections - what were Robinson Cano's projected stats this year? How were the Red Sox or White Sox projected to do this year? How are they doing now? What were the Giants projected to do last year?

that doesn't mean i want to trade him for less than he is worth (which is a lot)

He's averaging less than 1 fWAR per season for the last 2.5 seasons. I'm not sure he *is* worth that much anymore.

you might be right, and that's very sad, but if you are, then it isn't worth trading him for what he's worth, either.

OK, let's say just for the sake of argument that the Cubs' front office has come to the conclusion that Castro projects to be a one-win-per-year player going forward.

What should they do?

It's too bad the guys who compiled those called them "stone cold incontrovertible facts".

Oh wait, they were called projections. Oops.

that's a crazy and silly contrived scenario, but obviously they should trade him because he likely isn't perceived as such

Chris Coghlan tracks fly balls with all the grace and fluidity of a man getting attacked by bees

Is Chris Coghlan getting attacked by bees

This board's pretty damn realistic about the Cubs except for the game threads, which is riddled both absurd pessimism and random games when you go on these really amusing aggro super positivity bouts. It's pretty great.

You think it is silly and contrived that they might project Castro to be what he has been for 350 games now?

minnesota releasing bees during the bottom of all innings is the new minnesota messing with the ac during the top of all innings

that they would have information so as to be certain that he is something and that other teams would have a significantly different opinion of him at the same time

The weird new guy is obviously wrong about the board being homers. You're still doing the hilarious aggro positive thing. WE CAN HAVE TWO THINGS.
