Can someone describe what happened?

Starlin flubbed a fairly easy grounder which scored a run, then held the ball as another run scored as he lost focus

RIP Starlin's career.

Its gonna take months for the media to forget about that one.

There comes a point when it's no longer a "narrative" and actually a reality that Starlin is incredibly talented but incredibly dumb and inconsistent.

And that is this moment?

Castro gets a perfect DP ball, boots it, then turns his head away from the play in disgust and a second runner scored

Starlin kicked a surefire double play ball. He turned and stared at the scoreboard in frustration, which the runner(who moved from second to third on the play)saw and ran home without a throw.

If I had a dollar for everytime someone made fun of the Starlin narrative this year, I'd be rich. It's a narrative because it's true.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaa we really do need some starting rotaion help.

Because Hendricks got fucked by bad defense and some babip luck in one inning? You realize he has been worth almost 3 wins in 150 career innings, no?

The rotation is fine right now but going forward, it no doubt needs an upgrade. I'm completely fine with Hendricks being a #5 though going forward.

Do you watch the Cubs play baseball games?

If we need rotation help, it's to replace Wada - yes he's not as good as his last start. He's just not good in general. Hendricks is pitching fine and overall he is actually better than his numbers show. He's something between the numbers from last year and numbers so far this year.

the rotation doesn't need an upgrade.

upgrading over wada would be really nice as a luxury, though.

Not making fun. Asking a legit question. Your first post made it seem like that moment is either currently or coming in the future. Your most recent response makes it sound like that point has been reached to you. Just didn't know why THIS was the moment that made it "real" for you.

If you're making a bid for the World Series which the Cubs aren't doing this season, it needs an upgrade. But this rotation is good enough for now for a Wild Card push and playoff game.

And that's with 7 starts from Travis Wood. They also rank 7th in FIP and 2nd in xFIP in the majors.
