Deadspin had a bunch of food-mistake stories the other day and one was about a guy who thought he was digging in to a bowl of wasabi peanuts and popped several into his mouth before realizing they were olive pits.

Horrifying.

Best when served in a martini (green) or by placing on all ten fingers (canned black).

Not surprising that the lunchables crowd doesn't like olives.

This poll can't be representative of society as a whole right?

Olives are like scotch. Horrible if you go cheap, but worth spending a little. Muffulettas alone make olives fantastic.

Olive oil and olive salad are delicious. I've never had a muffuletta with actual olives on it, though.

Chopped olives, garlic, olive oil, salami, ham, mortadella and provolone on fresh sesame seed bread. That is all.

The ones I've had have the olives mixed in with a giardiniera-style relish. So good.

Boscolis and Ruffinos ship from NOLA. It's worth it.

I used to love olives when I was a kid. Then one day when I was sick, I ate a bunch and vomited everywhere. And thats the last time I liked olives.

That happened to me with Doritos

And me with peppermint schnapps.

Me too. Ranch Doritos, specifically. Just the smell of them gets me queasy to this day.

Ugh, no. Dorito flavoring is made in the same plant as perfume and I've had the misfortune of doing some consulting work in there. Can't stand the smell anymore.
