They suggested he had a possibly oblique injury. He tweaked it on a check swing ,and it bothered him on the bunt afterwards, which also might be why he bunted in the first place, so it's very possible.

I'm glad I never got discouraged when they were playing like crap last week. You all said I was crazy when I guaranteed we'd sweep this series.

 

Yeah I was trying to be level headed for the most part and saying the right things. It's a young team, several players adjusting to the majors, tough schedule, bullpen injuries, etc. There will be ups and downs but as long as the Cubs are improving steadily over the course of the season, we are in good shape.

I was there for games 2 and 3. Kicked started it by taking down CC(he actually got a no decision but first time he started and they lost) then swept them in Edmonds 2 homer game that had a Grand Slam!!

That was the greatest week ever. The week before was the first time the Cubs had shown some semblance of vulnerability (lead got down to 1 game going into that series I believe) and they just came out and blew Milwaukee to kingdom come.

 

Lead actually got down to 0. And on the Sunday they were tied, the day before that fateful Brewers series, they fell behind 5-0 against Florida, while at the same time the Brewers were up 4-1. The Cubs ended up coming back and winning 9-6, the Brewers gave up a 7 spot in the 5th inning against the Astros and lost their game and instead of being down a game with no momentum going into the series, they were up a game and proceeded to sweep and have a 5 game lead, never to be relinquished again.
