I never liked tapatalk. I found the old mobile interface usable. The new, post-upgrade mobile interface is excellent.

I had no idea this was such a pain for people; it seems so minor. Sure as hell not going to pay $5 or whatever Tapatalk was until a year or two ago just because I have to pinch and pull a little more. The board was easily readable and usable before.

If you visit the site a few times per day every day, the cost per use is a fraction of a cent. Not having to pinch and zoom or use landscape mode in a clean interface is worth that to some people.

Yea I found the pinching and zooming, or scrolling a ton in landscape annoying as hell on the old mobile platform. Maybe I needed a bigger phone or smaller fingers, but the readability/usability was way more convenient. Plus before Tapatalk was free it was a way better App and was actually really easy to navigate between forums compared to the mobile browser. In the past year or so Tapatalk became nightmarish to navigate.
