If Javy can keep up his seemingly better approach at the dish its going to be hard to not find a spot for him.

Bottom line with Bryant is that he will do what the team asks him, however he and boras know that his value is maximized at 3b or CF based on his potential at the plate. If they made a short term LF change that'd be cool. But dont be surprised if that happened Bryant would train all offseason to be a CF in 2016. Just saying dude has some speed, which has been pretty underrated. I'd go as far as to say he would probably be able to work with a hall of fame caliber outfielder in the off season to expedite the process of learning good routes and jumps on the ball. With his height, he could steal a few homers (well not at wrigley but on the road) too.

One thing I think we can say about KB is he works HARD at his game like Rizzo. He will only get better.

Yeah, that's minimally encouraging but now we have to worry about him becoming Jon Singleton if he's putting up that kind of hashline.

It is a small sample size (43AB) he needs to do for a bit longer but i wouldnt be mad at

23 Homers and 58 Walks from a infielder. (thats over 500 ab)

take away one out and add one hr from that blown call and his line looks a lot better, too.

Is there video of this? I seem to have missed it.

had a HR right down the LF line here in nashville, originally called fair(the correct call) but the HP ump let the dude at 2B overrule him and call it foul...he then flied out to the warning track in that AB.

Given that they were able to spot Bryant in CF for at least a couple games and they survived, it's probably not such a big deal if they had to move him to LF to make room for a miraculously revived Baez that they'd have to give him a bunch of time in LF ahead of time.

it's such a small sample size that it's totally meaningless, but still funny how disastrously bad he graded out in CF

If they call up Baez, and they inevitably move Bryant to LF, which infielder would you prefer to put at 3rd?

i dont i prefer to keep baez in AAA till close to the trade deadline and see what kinda trades we can pull off with one of our middle infielders (not sure who)

Russell, I think.

I don't really have a strong preference though. They all should be fine wherever.

would you believe Jon Singleton has 4 HR & 18 RBI in his last 3 games for Fresno

Why let things like stats and facts get in the way of a terrible joke, right?

Bryant can't move to LF; that spot is reserved for Schwarber now since Montero is awesome again and Bryant appears to be adequate at 3B.

I think Hoyer's surprisingly candid comments about how we match up with the Mets signals they're going to move one of the shortstops - likely Castro or Baez.

Schwarber likely won't hit the bigs this year but in 2016 i agree. if they change it up a bit this season it wouldn't surprise me. but if there aren't any deadline deals, expect a very interesting offseason.

What makes you think we can't have Schwarber and Montero as our 2 2 of our 3 catchers?

i don't think its good to have an elite prospect like schwarber in a platoon role, when he is up he will need his ab's every day to adjust and learn.

have people really seen a ton in the majors to indicate russell would be better than castro at shortstop?

Yeah, UZR has liked Russell in a limited sample and part of his troubles are certainly due to lack of familiarity with 2B, but at the same time we've seen Russell straight kick several balls and I haven't seen any huge displays of range that scream "SS playing 2B" either.

The biggest problem with finding a place for Baez to play, is that it's a little difficult to go back if you move Bryant to the OF for any extended stretch. He needs 3B reps if he's going to stick there, and while I'm not entirely opposed to having Bryant meet his future today, it's also sacrificing his value if he can be passable there. It can be a worthy sacrifice if Baez hits, but it's a tricky balancing act to actually execute.

If Baez would come up with Castro, Russell, and Bryant on the 25 man roster, I bet Javy would be the one to move to LF for 2015. Then you maneuver in 2016 if Javy proves he can hit major league pitching.
