it's like 20% right now and can easily be significantly higher in 2-3 days (part of the reason even talking like that is stupid right now)

 

20% for something like this isn't a long shot. it's a real opportunity.

 

It's a slim chance. I'm not going to turn it down or anything, but when I check the scores, I'm looking at wild-card rivals first. YMMV.

 

if you want postseason success, the wild card opportunity isn't all that great anyway with the added round.

 

i could give two fucks about getting into that wild card game if we end up losing it (obviously this is something that requires hindsight - that's not what i mean by that). factor in the extra opponents for the slot itself and the extra round and i'm not sure you should be asking for pirate losses over st louis losses, unless your end is simply getting in.

 

i'm too lazy to do the math but as far as winning a world series (or even having a remotely deep playoff run), i have a hard time thinking it's much better to look at wild card opportunities at this point

 

 

either way, if we miss out on the division and manage to snag a wild card, that's cool, but i'm not going to root for it at the expense of the division. [expletive] no. not in may.
