Did our #5 hitter just sac bunt?

 

That was probably the right mathematical play. It's hard to model, but decreased offensive environment/Wrigley in April/up 1 run late/not a particularly strong #5 hitter changes the calculations quite a bit.

 

Plus lefty-lefty matchup as well.

I get Coke to start the inning with two lefties but pulling Ramirez for Strop seems like switching for the sake of switching. I guess with coming off two days off and another off day tomorrow he wants both Strop and Ramirez to get some work? That's the only thing I can think of.

the guys at GRB were none too pleased with matheny allowing adams to face strop, FWIW

 

and they were bitching about it before he lined out

I'm not one to bitch about modernizing and monetizing Wrigley, but no Len, the giant scoreboard does not make the place more intimate.

i could be wrong but i think we've spent like 3 days total at .500 or better in the past 3 seasons
