It made a lot of sense when the site was first starting up and I was looking for advice on things from a few core members.

We solved the problem by only having core members left to post!

I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, we're pretty much all adults here and a little bit of colorful vocabulary enhancement would add some flair to our discourse. On the other, I think a few posters would lace almost every post with profanity or feel like every point made needs an f-bomb for emphasis, and that would quickly become tedious.

And I think the majority of us have little trouble quickly interpreting what words are really behind most of the [expletive]s.

Swearing would really bump this place up a notch. I don't think it would be as prevalent or subtract from intelligent discourse as some may fear.

cursing should be for dramatic effect or emphasis. Too many people drop expletives as their only means of self expression. If they're not here because they can't swear than that's reason enough to keep the censor.

I would be ok with the prime time TV rules.

This place already has prime TV rules. It's because that one time Roast had a fannypack malfunction.

Swearing is a harmless emotional release which could make you feel stronger, researchers have claimed - though only in moderation.

Participants were made to play aggressive computer games and could recall a wider variety of swear words after their session, as well as turning the air blue much more often.

Rather than just proving we swear more when we're angry, the psychologists insisted, the study showed profanity can be an emotional coping mechanism which makes us feel more resilient.

Swearing can actually lessen pain, according to scientists at Keele University.

Tim, why are you trying to HURT us with this senseless ban?

Devil's advocate.....

We haven't stopped you from typing swear words for quite some time. Other people just can't read them.

Yeah and it's a pain the [expletive] [expletive] to figure out what all the [expletive] sucking expletives are in hindsight. I miss a lot of good [expletive] [expletive] bitch rants that could provide some chuckle house content instead of trying to solve a puzzle.

you guys raise a good point. So I'm making a change and Tim can just try to [expletive] stop me.

From now on, you're allowed to scream as many swear words as you like while reading or posting at nsbb with no warning, suspensions, or bannings for any of the words you say out loud.

You're welcome.
