last week he was given a bone and asked which of his players deserved to be in the pro bowl...a chance to talk up his guys and his response was "no comment"

Really?

Glad we lost.

And I stand corrected...Bridgewater was great today against this stellar Bears' defense.

He doesn't really impress me at all. Whatever.

Words like "great" and "stellar" were possibly not used seriously.

He is not good. He was extremely mediocre against an atrocious Bears' defense today. At least 60 of his 200 passing yards were directly a result of the Bears being clueless in coverage...that includes the touchdown. Not sure what people really see in Bridgewater, but he will wash out in a few years.

Jesus he's a rookie

Exactly. And a rookie with a horrible o-line who had the highest completion % of any QB in the NFL in December.

Jesus we are on the precipice of being the only NFCN team with no QB.

@BruceFeldmanCFB: Teddy Bridgewater completed over 72% of his passes in #Vikings final 5 games of the season & 4 of those games were vs Top10 defenses. #TheQB

@mattvensel: Bridgewater finished with a completion percentage of 64.4, the third-highest all-time for a rookie. Only Big Ben and RGIII were higher.

"@djdurkin: The #Bears finished the 2014 season averaging less points on offense than they did the season before Trestman arrived when Tice was OC."

Josh McCown was good for a month too.

Yes. Against much worse defenses and with better WRs/OL than Bridgewater had this December.

Dumb. You haven't even said anything specific about why he's bad. Just that he'll wash out in a few years.

Look at his actual production with the [expletive] show he's had around him. Then remember he's a rookie. Maybe read what people who actually scout and break down film think.

He's not bad, but I doubt he'll ever be a guy people are afraid of. That should have been his point, instead he went full meatball. Never go full meatball.

That's fair. I don't know that he'll ever be a top 5 QB but I could definitely make the argument that he's top 20 right now which is pretty good for a rookie. He had one of the worst pass blocking OL in the league, no Peterson (or his backup), no Rudolph, Patterson was a no-show and he ended up having 2 of his top 4 WR's be guys who were on practice squads to start the year.

Ended the season 11th in completion percentage, 14th in YPA, 22nd in rating and QBR, highest rookie QBR since Luck/Wilson/RG3, third highest rookie completion percentage ever. And he was trending up. 9.2 YPA the last 4 games. 72% completion percentage over last 5 with a rating over 100.

PFF ranked him 15th this year and 2nd in the league over the last 5 weeks.

@PFF_Sam: @SI_DougFarrar Final 5 weeks of the season only QB with a higher PFF grade than Teddy is Aaron Rodgers.

And 5th (I assume since they said top 5, I don't have PFF premium) from weeks 8-17.

FWIW, Bridgewater was my #1 ranked QB last year and my #3 overall prospect. His draft stock went down because he didn't look great at his pro day and he had "skinny knees". Both were BS excuses that should get GMs fired.

Wasn't his hand size and concern about fumbling a factor as well? The old Dave Krieg syndrome.

Yeah that's true. Kurt Warner had small hands too. He and Krieg were good QBs despite that. I didn't really buy that excuse either.

Bomani Jones @bomani_jones · Dec 23

#smallhands RT @Ryan_Riddle: Bridgewater is 1 of just 3 QBs to play at least 25% of the offensive snaps & not lose a fumble to the opponent.

Also saw this:

Doug Farrar @SI_DougFarrar · 7h 7 hours ago

Bridgewater also completed 82.4 percent of his passes while under pressure, the highest figure in the league this season. (per @PFF)

dcvalpo may carry more weight than all though.

This was a funny example of how it became an issue for Teddy but then never got mentioned with others: BhAlQFdCIAElITR.png

I get your point, but Garopollo (or anybody else last year with the same issue) wasn't projected to be a possible top 5 pick either.
