I don't care if he's in the HoF or not (he should be, but who gives a [expletive]), but I hope his smug ass is never let back in to pro baseball. That's what he really wants, and [expletive] him.

Could you explain what you mean by this? Like, as a manager or broadcaster or something?

If he is reinstated the Reds would jump all over the opportunity to hire him to one of those BS ambassador positions and he would be all over the television as a hype man.

The guy clearly wants anything along those lines; coaching, broadcasting, basically being a human mascot...he just wants back in, period.

Yeah I get that, but thats all dependent on someone hiring him. I just don't see any team wanting him to be their human mascot (unless the Reds or someone has already come out and implied as much if he were available as such). Ray Rice might be willing to sign with a team to be their lockerroom attendant, doesn't mean anyone will actually give him the job.

I'm failing to see why Rose being apart of baseball again would make me upset in any way, shape, or form. Are you worried he'll be the next Joe Morgan or something? I literally do not care about Pete Rose one iota, whether he's in baseball or isn't.

he did the worst thing you can do and doesn't deserve a second chance ever. if you want to put him in the hall of fame because you care that he hung around forever and hit a bunch of crappy singles when he was 45, go for it, but he does not deserve a job with an mlb team ever again.

and if he is reinstated there is no way the Reds would hesitate to hire him for $100,000/year to just hang out all year and let people kiss his ring.

I think there's a middle ground of HOF eligible but not allowed to be on a team's payroll that solves most of those problems. That's obviously simplistic, but you get the idea.

But the better option is to keep him out of the HOF out of spite because he is awful.

I generally agree with you, but it's not like he's ever really done anything that hurt anyone other than himself.

I think that suggests a basic misunderstanding of the reason why he was banned in the first place.

Do you not understand why people associated with the game are not allowed to bet on it?

From the way he talks, it seems like the whole being banned from working baseball thing bothers him a LOT more than not being in the HoF. The HoF is such a backwards cluster [expletive] to begin with that I don't really care if he's let in to it; since not being to work in baseball is what bugs him the most, that's what should stick.

Still don't care. Worst case scenario he winds up hurting the Reds, whooptie doo

Neat! When you can provide a poll of MLB owners and media tycoons and the question is, "Would you hire Pete Rose should his ban be reversed?"

Because that's what my comment was in regard to. Your link has no power here.

Meatballs [expletive] love him. The Reds would jump all over having him as an "ambassador of the game" or some [expletive] like that to parade him around on bobblehead nights and put asses in the seats when they're 10 games out in August.
