Week 4: Packers (1-2) @ Bears (2-1), Noon, FOX/780

Nice to see that Conte would have practiced today, thought for sure he'd be out this week.

We all know what happened the last time he played GB at home, so I'm sure he'll be seeking some redemption.

He also had a big INT in that game. His range in the deep middle is a big key in this game. Conte has never been bad in coverage when he knows the coverage.

Watching Inside the NFL for the first time with Marshall. Ed Reed is basically begging Marshall to get him signed to the Bears.

Marshall say anything about his ankle?

I know it won't come into play for this game, but I'm scared that if/when Garza is healthy, that the Bears will play him instead of De La Puente.

@AdamSchefter

Free agent CB Champ Bailey, who feels healthy, said he is willing to play nickel or safety if that's what it takes to land a job somewhere

Do it Emery.

Bears are wearing the throwbacks on Sunday.

Also, I had no idea there was a uniform schedule.

I wish they would go back to white on white on the road. Seems like they ditched that after the awful 09 opener.

Yes! I really like the white on white at indoor stadiums. It looks so clean and it will stay clean indoors. I also did like the all blues a little, but I don't mind them not wearing those.

This isn't baseball. Football coaches in general tend to do a better job of giving jobs to the best option.

Yeah, but when the incumbent is the leadery long time vet long tenured bear guy it is a little worrisome

Cutler already cut him some slack by letting him be in that creepy commercial; he won't tolerate the option on the field that likely has him getting clobbered more.

One interesting thought I had is that if the Bears feel inclined to give Garza some playing time because he's been a team leader or whatever BS....then how about using him as the 6th OL, the way they are using Britton?

Britton is a candidate to be cut when both Slauson and Garza are healthy anyway (along w/ Boggs). And I know Garza can't really play out on the edge like Britton does in the 6 OL set, but I had a wild idea to play him basically as the RG, with Long going out to RT, and Mills being the TE eligible. Mills stays as an edge blocker and gets a further edge away from the QB in passing situations. Long is athletic enough to handle rushers to his outside if necessary.

I'd rather Garza just watch the rest of the season unless he's needed, but I have my doubts that will happen no matter how irrational they may be.

Was it the whites or the orange jerseys that were supposedly ditched after Urlacher got hurt while wearing them?

well, it was the opener in 09 that urlacher was out for the season. also the last time they wore them. also was cutler's awful bears debut in lambeau.

he was the one that liked white on white and would pick it, IIRC

gonna have to agree.

white on white is awful

blue on blue can work in theory, but the completion percentage is very low.

have we worn those since the "it was new year's eve" game?
