At a prestigious banquet for Florida’s elite prep baseball players, each one was supposed to introduce himself to the room, saying his name and college choice. So the kid from Arlington Country Day got up and said:

 

“Javier Baez, Major League Baseball University.”

I voted Baez only because Sosa wasn't an option. Leaving Sammy off that list is total [expletive]. I love Wood and Santo, but they are in no way greater players than Sammy. Hell, Sandberg and Banks are about the only possible ones to vote over Sammy.

Because nobody alive today was around to see them play, and they played in a completely different era of baseball. Honestly, those are much more excusable omissions to me.
