pedialyte

The ingredient list shows mainly sugar and splenda. "Electrolytes" being a small amount of salt and potassium. Sounds like placebo.

But who am I kidding, i'll give it a try.

Pedialyte is designed to promote quick fluid and electrolyte absorption while a child is sick and contains the quantity and ratio of the sugars glucose and fructose, and electrolytes recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)[citation needed]. This makes it very low in sugar compared to most sports drinks (100 calories/liter vs. Gatorade's ~200) and higher in both sodium (1,035 mg/L vs. Gatorade's 465) and potassium (780 mg/L vs. Gatorade's 127). Sucrose is not used in Pedialyte because of the risk of making diarrhea worse by drawing water into the intestine and increasing the risk of dehydration. In its flavored formulations, Pedialyte uses the synthetic sweeteners sucralose and acesulfame potassium.[1]

Pedialyte has become a hydration alternative to sports drinks for some athletes. It is also popular with migrant workers near the US-Mexico border to avoid dehydration which is the foremost cause of death in the desert.[2]

Pedialyte is similar to rehydration fluids used by the World Health Organization (WHO) such as "New Oral Rehydration Solution" (N-ORS), that are used during the outbreak of illnesses such as cholera and rotavirus. Similar products include Lytren, Gastrolyte, Ricelyte, Resol, and Drip Drop.[3]

It's not a placebo. When I know it's going to be a heavier night of drinking, I usually drink a couple before/during and have had nothing but mild to non-existent hangovers since I started doing so.

1 part sprite 1 part pedialyte = best hangover cure on earth

i haven't had any success at all with it "curing" hangovers but it has definitely helped as a preventative measure.

(pedialyte, that is...haven't done the sprite thing)

ok, well, cure is a bit dramatic I suppose. But it helps with the dehydration which causes a lot of the problems, also sprite has been shown to help metabolize ethanol quicker by your liver. try it! my roomate used to add 2 advil to the concoction, but to each their own

Chinese researchers suggest chugging a Sprite the morning after. Or if you prefer to skip the sweet stuff, soda water may be a good alternative. How it works is that it helps the body better metabolize alcohol, and in particular, speeds up your ability to process aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH), which is thought to be responsible for the symptoms of a hangover.

the one thing that did NOT work for me, ever - was coffee. it just made me feel hyper while feeling crappy at the same time, and made me pee more, which seemed contradictory to everything

just saying i haven't had much luck after the fact. drinking it before/during drinking and maybe before bed has helped a lot, though.

i've heard of the sprite thing before but have never tried it and don't know if there's anything to it.

Sun times apparently reported that Villanueva is expected to take his place, with Chris Rusin on his way from AAA for long relief.

I hope that's only a one start thing. Villanueva is so much more valuable out of the pen, and both Beeler and Wada have earned looks.

Purchased tickets for this game thinking it would have the best pitching matchup. I'll take trading for Russell as a consolation prize, though. \:D/
