Seems like this would be themost fun team to follow ever if we played in Colorado

Soler 2-2 w/ a BB. Does he really have to stay in Arizona most of the year?

He was replaced in the 6th. Hopefully it's because they think he's ready to rejoin Tennessee.

3 run bomb by Alcantara!

Apparently it was a monster shot that hit a light tower in RF.

Warming up in the pen, Pierce Johnson hasn't thrown a pitch above the knees. Bit of funk in the arm action, but repeatable delivery.

Balaguert lines a FB into CF for a single. Why on earth would you ever throw him anything straight?

The next time Trey Martin hits the ball hard will be the first time.

Penalver has ditched the leg kick again. Trying to find something that works. If he can make himself a 40-45 hitter, he'll play in the show

Johnson 90-92 through 3. Living down. Hard slider 82-84. 10-4 movement. No CH yet. A couple cutters at 88 #cubs

Schwarber has a really deep crouch. Holds hands away. Gets into good hitting position. Strong takes.

Jordan Gorosh @JGoro8 · 6h

Johnson starting to command and sequence, especially with FB. Can run it, cut it. Worked in CH with some fade.

Would be an interesting debate between Johnson and Tseng for no. 1 #cubs pitching prospect. Johnson higher floor, Tseng more upside

I don't think yasiel balaguert makes it above AA; no ability to recognize anything with spin. Looks lost vs arm side.

Have liked Johnson more with each passing inning. Cutter is new, and pretty good. 86-88 runs away from RHB. Carving up low level hitters

Johnson done. HR in 1st, then cruised. 7 1 2 2 1 6. FB 90-92 T93. Command. Can cut 86-88. SL flashed + 81-84. Few CH w fade. High no 4 #cubs

Paniagua nasty in relief. 94-96. Effort, but late life. Short, tight slider. No reason to be in low A at 24.

#Cubs prospect Pierce Johnson http://instagram.com/p/pxDqkqPtuH/

Johnson settled after a rough first. Commands his 2FB and slider well, not a whole lot of swing and miss.

I understand he's raw but I've seen a lot of Hanneman and he has just not popped out to me at all.

Pierce is playing around with a cutter out there. Works in the 88 MPH range, showed ok bite.

Mauricio Rubio Jr. @MRubio52 · 5h

Johnson switched up the sequencing, started using the breaking ball more often, worked backwards, got some nice swings and misses.

Pierce Johnson is done for the night. After he settled in it looked good. Got better as the game went along. #Cubs

Apparently it was a monster shot that hit a light tower in RF.

Here's the video, but it's nearly worthless due to bad camera work. All you see is the RF not even bothering to to turn around until after the ball hits the tower. The Colorado Springs announcers seemed duly impressed, though.

Unexciting as they may be, comparatively speaking, are there any reports to go with the stat lines of Hatley and Parker? I didn't catch any of Parker's 2.2 big league innings, but damn, they're both looking good in terms of BB/K.

Hatley: 30 IP 7/42 0.87 WHiP

Parker: 21.2 6/31 1.15 WHiP

Add them to the back of a bullpen featuring Rondon, Ramirez, Strop, Rivero, Vizcaino, and a lefty of some sort (Wright/Russell/Rosscup,) and it could be one of the best.

Makes me wonder if Grimm should be stretching out in Iowa.

I thought it was perfectly shot. The reaction from the right fielder was priceless.
