I'm slightly worried about LeBron and Melo going to LA. Don't think it'll happen but I didn't think the Heat would happen.

Nobody is really talking about the Lakers, but they need to make a splash. I don't see LeBron and Melo and Kobe, but I could see Melo and Love going there.

What about New York? Could that even happen?

No. There's no way for them to get under the cap until next offseason.

There was some chatter last night about Melo and LeBron to LA (before LeBron opted out). I believe I read they could free up $31M for LeBron and Melo to share. I don't see those 2 being okay with that when Kobe is making what he's making.

Id put Lebrons probability as 75% Miami, 20% Cleveland, 5% other.

Melo would probably be something like 40% Chicago, 40% New York, 10% Miami, 10% other

There was a rumor that the Cavs could potentially trade the #1 and Jack to Utah for #5, #23, Derrick Favors, and Alec Burks. If they could get those assets and there's any indication that LeBron could come back to Cleveland, I don't see how you don't make that deal and try to make the super team. Use the picks and basically anyone not named Irving or Favors (Minny wouldn't want him anyway) to get Love, sign LBJ, still have #32 and a bunch of future first rounders for depth, and you'd basically guarantee at least one title.

Pipe dream my friend. I don't see Utah doing that deal. With Embid likely to fall they are better off waiting, IMHO.

EDIT: I'm not seeing any way LeBron isn't back in Miami.

Why wouldn't you just use the #1 on Wiggins or Parker to pair with LeBron and company? Or trade the #1 for Love if you want to go that route?

Because Wiggins will need time to become that caliber player(if he does) and I don't think Parker will ever be that caliber. Making that deal instead of #1 for love gives you more young depth and another pretty good player in Favors(even if they could only afford him that one year).

LeBron James' agent Rich Paul has told Heat LeBron will exercise early termination option

Think he will do a decision 2.0?

If he does do it again, he should go full on jerk. Do it from a kids shelter in Cleveland, show up in a Cavs jersey and hat, then announce he's staying in Miami.

I'm really starting to think Lebron is going back to Cleveland. Orlando is offering Afflalo, 4, and 12 for the top pick supposedly and Philly is offering Young, 3, and 10. That gives Lebron quite a bit to work with there, in my mind.

At least that'll keep Melo on the market.

Until we hear anything else I think the only thing you can assume is Lebron is maximizing his earnings.

When is the last time a player performed well and declined to use an opt out in any sport ever? We knew LeBron was going to opt out 4 years ago.

This was posted in another thread, but if Wade opts out it has to mean that LeBron (and probably Bosh) are planning to stay. He won't get anything near $40 mill over two years on the open market; he's going to be 34 with a bad knee, lots of mileage, and plenty of recent evidence that he is starting to wear down. If he opts out he is effectively restructuring to help them to get more talent.

Apparently a deal is in the works to send Chandler & Felton to Dallas in exchange for Calderon, Dalmbert, & Larkin. Speculate away but from a cap perspective this brings down 14/15 salary for NYK, but adds 15/16 salary.

Melos gone. NYK trying to get under LT after S&T for Boozer and assets.

That could be now that we're also seeing 2 second rounders. That's nearly one million in extra cap room over 2 vet min spots.

The Knicks-Mavs deal is complete

The deal sends Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton to Dallas in exchange for Jose Calderon, Samuel Dalembert, Shane Larkin, Wayne Ellington, picks Nos. 34 and 51 in Thursday’s draft
