buxton is better, but calling it a botch is [expletive] stupid

Your first clause contradicts your second.

Buxton > Correa

Bryant > Appel

Both in ways that should have been known on draft day by a good organization. Botches.

Yeah cause the gaps in those two players are anywhere near being close...

LOL I checked the Tennessee box score, saw the 1 run scored in the 9th inning for Tenn and knew exactly how it was scored before I checked the rest of the box score.

You kind of have to take Correa + McCullers vs Buxton.

correa has a .315/.380/.484 line in high A-ball as a 19 year old, and is pretty much in everyone's top 10. and they went under slot for him so that they could give a lot of money to lance mccullers, who's currently striking out more than a batter an inning as a 19 year old on the same team as correa. kyle needs to stop talking.

Buxton is better. That's all that matters.

Appel looks like a botch. Correa does not.

The decision to pass on buxton to save money is and was a botch. 100 percent.

i see we've reached the "please everyone pay attention to me!" portion of kyle's evening.

I see we've reached the "I'm an [expletive] who can't stick to the topic but instead makes things personal" part of Truffle's evening.

If Buxton was a Cub prospect, "The Astros botched by not taking Buxton" would be a completely uncontroversial statement with the people who are currently arguing with it.

They could have fit Buxton and McCullers if they wanted, which would have meant it was Corea + Ruiz vs Buxton:

Buxton = $6 million

Correa: $4.8 million

McCullers = $2.5 million

Ruiz = $1.85 million

And Ruiz isn't very good.

I'm just pissed we botched the Javy pick. :D

In all seriousness I'd be thrilled with either Correa or Buxton. That one I don't consider a botch. The other one I totally do.

there is so much work to be done on both buxton and correa that calling it anything at this point is typical kyle stupidity.

The better prospect is the better prospect. They took the worse prospect.

Can you imagine the posts you'd be making if Buxton were a Cub prospect and out for the year?

Anyway, Alcantara really looks like he's figuring it out. To pull an arbitrary timeframe, since 5/11: 68 PA(roughly 1/3 of his season), .305/.368/.678/1.046, 4 HR, 7 BB, 11 K

Goodness, another HR for Alcantara.

EDIT: OPS up to .874
