It's amazing how fast a good feeling about this team can dissipate. Going into Sunday night, I think we were all feeling pretty good about them. Fast forward three days and ugh... back to where we're all too familiar.

Anyway, it'd be nice to beat these jerks at least once, and tonight is probably the night to do it. We're facing a lefty so unfortunately Darwin Barney will probably be in the lineup. If you're the Cubs, don't you have to strongly consider forfeiting the DH in this one? I mean, seriously.

Go Cubs.

Another oppty for Olt to showcase his skills at the plate. Wood > Danks, it'll be just a matter of who gives up the long ball more tonight

Is it written in the rule book the DH has to be for the pitcher? I'd put Barney at 2B and DH for him.

You do have to use it on the pitcher.

I really hope everyone's joking and doesn't *actually* think Wood is a better hitter than even Darwin Barney.

He is a better human being and that is all that matters.

I would do it simply for the opportunity to humiliate Kyle's favorite player.

I don't follow how that humiliates Vitters.

I'd feel different if Barney had his normal 5-600 OPS, but hovering under 400... I know he'll eventually turn it around, but it doesn't feel like it atm.

I hope he's given the chance to turn it around on a different team or in Japan

FWIW, out of 107 pitchers Danks is 104th with a 1.58 WHIP. His average fastball velocity is 99th at 88mph. He is dead last in xFIP at 5.48. In other words, if we can't score off Danks, we can't score off anyone.
