They look done to me. Played a ton of hockey over the last couple of years.

Kings have only played 3 less games of hockey of the last 2 years, and considerably more over the last 3 and look to be firing on all cylinders. Also, the Kings have had a considerably more grueling run in this year's playoffs. Only 2 more games played but the Hawks had several days rest between each series and I believe the Kings had 1 day off between each series. I guess the major difference is the Hawks had 10 Olympians and the Kings 6.

The Kings last year looked like the tired beat up team vs the Hawks, looks like the opposite this series. Not making excuses but the Hawks haven't really looked right since February. That being said if I think the Hawks can win this series.

Anyone see this?

Yeah...it's been refuted by the LAPD.

EDIT: Related tweet...

@wingingitmotown Reports also state that just before Crawford sprayed his victim with acid-water, he shouted "HAIL HYDRAte" at him.

Ah, should have known it was TMZ. They also said Crawford is in the middle of a 6 year contract. That contract doesn't start until next season.

The Kings were significantly beat up last year. This isn't the same team that the Hawks beat in 5.

Posted

It's the same team the Hawks beat up for 1.6 games in the first half of the series, then beat up on the Hawks for 2.4 games in the second half.

It's hockey. Weird things happen and teams look dominant and terrible at alternate times.

I don't even want to watch tonight. I feel obligated...like it's a chore. *sigh*

It's a coping thing, getting ready for the season to be over. My wife wanted to go out to dinner tonight, I said yeah but let's *try* to be home by puck drop. For me, that's backing away.

Honestly, I still hold out hope, but I'm surprised at how mentally over it I am. Yes I get angry during the games and I'll probably get angry if they lose tonight (but they won't...I guarantee it), but there is no lingering sadness or anger that I would normally get. We won it last year and 3 years before that, and we're capable of winning it next year. Right now the storyline is that we are running into a buzzsaw. I don't think that means that the Kings are that much better than us, if at all.

That's exactly what I said.

I was the most angry after games 2 and 3. Both winnable games. If they lose tonight, or Friday, or Sunday, I will be upset but not as much as I would have last year if they didn't win the Cup. Their championship window should remain open for the remainder of this decade.

Right. Honestly, I think it's been a pretty even series at even strength. The PP and PK have obviously been the deciding factor of the last three games.

Find a way to win tonight and then the pressure is squarely on the Kings in Game 6.

Find a way to win tonight because it's all they have left.
