can you imagine what this would look like if tony larussa was still around? any time a pitcher looked good, he'd find a way to come out and talk the umpires into making him stand around for three minutes

i don't get it... if they rule that it didn't hit the bat are they allowed to call it a ball even though you can't actually review balls/strikes?

you could say that the original call was ball but it hit the bat

I'm pretty sure that only applies to umpire discretion on pitches that are caught by the catcher.
