Bears worked out Santonio Holmes today.

Interesting. Hopefully he's over his injury troubles.

Bears signed WR Greg Herd.

I see this as a very good sign for Wilson's injury. If they were worried about not having Marquess for like 8 weeks into the regular season, then I'd imagine they would have signed someone better than a guy who's going to be in the first wave of cuts.

Yeah, no thanks. We don't need a bad apple in the locker room.

Bears practicing taking intentional safeties as though opponents will actually be within on possession of them in the 4th qtr this season.

Other than the league being stuck in the same time warp as the government, I don't see why weed should make a person a "bad apple" as long as it is isolated to his own time and not his professional work as a player.

I have no problem with weed, it should be legal. Him smoking weed in violation of his contract is stupid and he's been suspended for other things as well.

Holmes has been arrested in all three states in which he has lived (Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania), with charges ranging from domestic violence (later dismissed) to possession of marijuana (a one-game suspension by the Steelers). He violated the league's substance-abuse policy yet again, resulting in the four-game suspension.

Wasn't his last suspension in 2010 though? I'm more concerned with his suckage starting in 2010 and carrying through to last season, although I'm sure some of that was due to the Jets' horrible offense as well.

Marc Trestman: "We're going to understand what humility means, which is that we're a part of something bigger than ourselves."

uh-oh

Why uh-oh? This is the same stuff he's been preaching since he got here.

I assume it has something to do with the Martellus situation and the uh-oh is regarding what others have said about Bennett not being the kind of guy to adjust his mentality.

My guess is none of us remember this after about 6 weeks.

This. I'm not worried about the likes of Martellus turning on Trestman. His approach is bound to fail on a few guys but they'll probably turn around once they realize the potential cost to futures earning. As long as Jay meshes with him I'm good.

Trestman hasn't ruled out Bennett for Friday. It's nothing.

Yep, if these guys, especially the offense, are putting up numbers and having success, they will most definitely keep their mouths shut, win games and make themselves a bunch of money. If they're not winning, then the equation becomes completely different.

Haha my wife and I were trying to describe how he talked. She said calming but I knew that wasn't quite it. This is perfect.
