That site doesn't like us. Projects us to finish either 7-9 or 8-8, gives us the 19th best chance of making the playoffs out of 32 teams. Teams like the Giants, Lions, Falcons and Titans are given better odds. Meh

Admittedly, I haven't followed the Lions' offseason. Is there any particular reason why they wouldn't blow it again? It feels like people are continually picking them for better results than they actually deliver.

I'd have to agree on their Packers prediction.

I think the general narrative is that Schwartz didn't have control of his team and this led to the Lions collapsing the last 2 seasons. Jim Caldwell is supposedly a players coach who will keep them steady and let their talent shine. Or something like that. And they signed Golden Tate to take less pressure off of Megatron.

Not saying I buy it necessarily, its just what I've seen out there.

Is Jim Caldwell the stare into nothing guy who "led" the Colts?

Yes. Color me a little skeptical.

Good lord. The Giants and Titans aren't even close to us, and I for one don't think Atlanta rebounds into the playoffs. Still the 3rd best team in their division by a decent margin.

Atlanta probably has the most talented roster in the South. I don't think Carolina is going to have a repeat of double digit wins. Tampa has a ton of talent, but does Lovie take them to double digit wins that fast? I think Atlanta finishes 1 or 2 in the South, with anywhere from 9-11 wins. They are just a year removed from a 1st round bye in the NFC.

If Jon Bostic starts this season, the Bears are in trouble.

From Tribune's sports page...caption on a Rosenbloom blog

I just found the wording funny

I saw the caption as well, and concluded it was more Rosenbloom click bait. So I passed on it.

Which studies, I mean there have been studies done but it doesn't take this long to read them. He's just saying stuff to say it.

Eben Britton has a pulled hammy.

Kyle Long did some exercises on the side today, but didn't practice in full. He's now been cleared to begin practicing. He'll work on conditioning the next few days and then be out at normal practice.

Brandon Marshall told Michael Irvin today that Jay Cutler will be the MVP this year.

I love Jay but...uhhhh.

It could happen...if the defense improves enough.

If the Bears win a lot this year it will probably involve a crap ton of fancy passing stats by Cutler, which will automatically make him a candidate.

Well first, he'd have to be healthy all season. But also, the media doesn't like him. The only way they'd vote for him is if they had little choice. I'd think he'd have to make the Super Bowl at a minimum...if not win it.

Does the voting happen after the playoffs?

isn't voting done prior to the playoffs?
