Should we be concerned about Kyle Long? I heard he was losing weight.

A viral infection that knocks you out for a week is probably going to have some carry over into the rest of camp. And as a raw 2nd year guy who already missed time prior to last season it can't be helpful to have him this banged up.

Hahaha...Jay's been taking both 1st and 2nd team reps to get more reps in camp....and Yahoo has this headline. Admittedly they covered it correctly in the article, but how misleading can you get?

I would not call this "covering it correctly".

Demotion? Not quite.

Not quite suggests it is almost a demotion.

Yeah, I imagine he'll practice by the end of this week. He's getting evaluated today, with an off day tomorrow, I'm guessing he'll be eased into position drills Wed/Thurs and then practicing in team drills next week. Don't imagine he'll get into the preseason til Week 2 or 3, as it will take him a couple weeks to add some weight/strength lost.

But I don't think it's a big concern. He'll get his reps in practice and he was well involved in the offseason. He was in Miami with Marshall, Cutler and crew. He was at OTAs. He's been very close to the action on the field in the 3 practices so far. Hell, he even helped coach rookies at rookie camp. Not all that concerned unless he goes into next week not on the field.

I feel like that title is meant to purposefully entice all the Josh McGowan people. Actually a pretty brilliant way to get readers to the article.

Not brilliant at all.

@AdamHoge: Alshon Jeffery has a sore foot. Ratliff just got a day off.

@AdamHoge: Kyle Long was seeing the doctor today and wasn't at practice. Still no word on his return.

It's pretty standard clickbait stuff. It only works for a while before people stop believing your headlines and ignore your site.

Or so I'd like to believe.

I mean... there's only so many times Al Yellon can proclaim that the Cubs signed Pudge Rodriguez before people stop believing him.

Then Banedon comes along and immediately boosts the click count by 20 or 30.

@MattBowen41: Charles Tillman was the most consistent player the last two days of #Bears camp w/ his technique & professional practice habits.

The whole Mega-Punt fan chant thing is awesome.

So meathead and I love it.

That site doesn't like us. Projects us to finish either 7-9 or 8-8, gives us the 19th best chance of making the playoffs out of 32 teams. Teams like the Giants, Lions, Falcons and Titans are given better odds. Meh

Admittedly, I haven't followed the Lions' offseason. Is there any particular reason why they wouldn't blow it again? It feels like people are continually picking them for better results than they actually deliver.

I'd have to agree on their Packers prediction.

Everybody always wants to be the one that predicted the Lions success when it happens.
