Week 15: Bears (7-6) @ Browns (4-9) Noon, FOX

If [expletive] Dallas had any [expletive] ability the Bears would be in the drivers seat. Lost games they had no [expletive] business losing to both Detroit and Green Bay.

Calm down, go remind your co-workers and neighbors Roethlisberger is a rapist, and update your blog.

A little random, but I wasn't reading during the game, but can anyone confirm that Bennett's TD was about the same as his TD last week by with about 10 yards less room?

A little confused. Similar play as last week - he was wide open for the TD.

So Rodgers vs. Cutler Week 17. Bears playoff odds have gone down about 10%.

I think next week is an absolute must win now. Of course I'm probably being dramatic.

Both the next two games have been must wins and not because of the Packers.

yeah, but the Packers could have been taken out and convinced to sit Rodgers for the rest of the year, and now he'll come back and beat the Bears.

I know this...I'm just not sure why UM just said next week was an absolute must win now. Both games are must wins and would have been no matter what happened in this game. We should consider ourselves fortunate if Detroit loses one of BAL, NYG, @MIN, tomorrow night seemingly being our best shot.

True, I guess it doesn't really matter what the Packers do at this point because at worst we'd be 0.5 games behind the Packers going into our last game, so its still only Detroit vs. Chicago/GB. That tie really makes things much less complicated.

No, last week he was wide open.

This week there was a guy slightly trailing him.

Either way, go Jay, but also curious on what else was going on, since Bennett was in the exact same spot of the field.

Careful, Marshall. The man has a bad groin and bad ankle.

Bears-Packers on SNF week 17 or Cowboys-Eagles? Both have big playoff implications.

Ask me after Monday. If Lions lose, its much more of both teams controlling destiny in Week 16. Of Lions win, one team is much more controlling destiny, while the other team is just holding on.

And that all rolls into Week 17 Chi-GB.

They prefer to pick a game where they know going in there will be definite playoff implications. It's likely going to be Philly Cowboys unless the Cowboys continue their collapse and lose in Washington next week. If the Cowboys win I'm pretty sure the Cowboys-Eagles game will be for the NFC East regardless of how the Bears Eagles game goes because Dallas holds the tiebreaker.

Then again, thinking it out I think that if the Lions go 1-1 this week and next and the Bears and Packers win next week, the Lions will be eliminated because the Bears would be 9-6 and the Packers 8-6-1 with the Lions at 8-7 meaning they could not catch the Packers/Bears winner even if they tie.

Will be interesting to see what happens.

Yeah, GB winning doesn't really hurt the Bears' playoffs odds other than having to maybe face Rodgers instead of Flynn. But he was still having pain this past week wasn't he? Pitt can beat them without Rodgers, then they'd have no reason to bring him back Week 17.

I think they have to make their decision before next week's game which makes the decision a little more difficult. Problem with the Cowboys is that you could get a stinker where is 35-10 at halftime.

They had no reason to play Rodgers in week 17 last year, but if they are out of it you're probably right

Jesus christ. The Cowboys can't even [expletive] up correctly. Thanks a lot guys.

Well, its setting up for the Packers to still be alive in week 17, this'll be a repeat of 2010 everybody. Strap yourselves in.

No for week 17 they make the call after week 16 games are completed.

Oh OK. Anyone think having the Bears on two weeks in a row is something NBC would shy away from?

Oh is that all

Yep, that's it.

well considering Rodgers starting would make it an auto-mega-win for the Packers, I think it's kind of a big deal

i'm confident in their ability to move the ball on the packers, though. they've been fairly successful at keeping the opponent's offense off of the field thus far.

i wouldn't be so sure about that

it's like people keep forgetting we have an awesome and difficult to stop offense

"Uh huh"

No because its looking like the only other possible option is Philly-Dallas, which would mean Philly 2 weeks in a row. I don't think there are any other week 17 matchups where its possibly to guarantee playoff implications. Of course there's also a possibility that neither of those 2 games guarantee playoff implications (one scenario would be Dallas losing next week and Philly winning, while the Lions win twice with the Packers and Bears losing)

Funny, but the Cowboys are a bigger draw. Either way either the Bears or the Eagles will be on twice in a row.

I have been vindicated. My hero - Dan Bernstein - the king of English and the queen of hermeneutics said that Cutler took a veiled shot at McCown in his presser last week. I can die happy.
