SI going to drop a bombshell on Oklahoma State in five-party story.

Chuck Carlton ‏@ChuckCarltonDMN 35m

Sports Illustrated email indicates first story in a five-part investigative series on Oklahoma State football breaking Tuesday.

Chuck Carlton ‏@ChuckCarltonDMN 32m

SI says Oklahoma St series will report direct payments to players, academic misconduct, drug use and sex with recruiting hostesses.

OSU already trying to be proactive with it: http://www.okstate.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/090913aad.html

The AD's comments are very telling that this is going to be quite the scandal and a very big mess for OSU.

Yea. That wasn't even a cover up. That was an apology.

Starting to think the Rebels can definitely take Texas.

If we run out Derpa McCoy as the starter you will. Daje Johnson is already out, and we don't want to start the best OL we have.

Rumors now running that Mack Brown tried to resign after BYU. I can't wait to see this job open up.

Enjoying that everyone thought the sanctions would turn PSU into a 2 win team, but they have a very real chance of starting 5-0 this year. The young players are really good and the defense is very strong.

In other words, suck it, haters

The only people saying that were PSU fans. The rest of us don't give a rats [expletive] ass about the university. Also, [expletive] ND, go Purdue.

We beat the Emus! Suck it haters! But seriously isn't next year supposed to be the worst year as they continue to lose depth and the full weight of the scholarship crunch is in effect?

Yes, but it isn't crippling recruiting like most people believed

Are you suggesting that a school like Penn state could get thru a gauntlet like Syracuse, E Michigan, Central Florida, and Kent State - all at home BTW, widely considered one heck of a tough place to play, Happy Valley is - you're telling me they could come out of that unscathed and then go to a place like Bloomington which is just an incredible college sports town, and knock off the Hoosiers? You want me to believe that there's a chance in hell that the Nits could get thru those 4 brutal games at home, take just one bye week, and then beat Indiana on the road? Do you realize the Hoosiers won 5 games in 2010 and then 5 more, total, in 2011-2012? When's the last time PSU won in Bloomington? 2011? Ha.

Yeah, good luck out there on that ledge Humpty. I'll believe when I [expletive] see it.

It only proves the sanctions weren't severe enough for what Penn St. did (or didn't do in this case).

And that the gap between B1G and all BCS level conferences and lower level mid majors (EMU, UCF) is big and that the B1G itself is overall weak. That schedule sucks.

A friend of mine sent this to me after BYU rang up 500 yards rushing against Texas. I can't stop giggling.

Texas v. Ole Miss is going to be a high scoring game, although Texas will be going with their backup QB, Case McCoy, so maybe not.

Will be at that game Saturday. Never been to a game there in Austin so pretty excited.

Wonder what it is gonna take for Mack Brown to be fired during the season and not after (as he surely will be). Would a loss at home to the Rebels do it?

Seems ridiculous that a program like Texas isn't perennially in the NC conversation, especially given the conference they are in.

The state university of Texas should always be in the top 10. That said I think there is no way Mack Brown doesn't finish the season, but then he gone.

If you are going to Austin, be sure to try some restaurants while you're down there. Great food. That town has gotten huge in recent years, mostly the fedora-wearing, ironic mustached types.

Jealous. I've never been either but Austin is pretty universally regarded as a kick-ass college town.

Yes, Austin as a city is amazing. 6th Street is where all the bars and nightlife are. If you're going to that game, you can't miss that.

If you don't mind getting there at 8-9 in the morning and waiting 2-3 hours for BBQ, Franklins is generally regarded as one of the top 20 restaurants in the country and its basically out of a doublewide. If you want some good breweries or bars let me know.

Plenty to do, drink, and see. Hit up some of the beer gardens before the game and tailgating. Thankfully it's a night game in September.

@InsideUSC: Marqise Lee said Lane Kiffin incorrect about players only meeting not happening. "Kiffin don't know," Lee said #USC

@InsideUSC: Max Wittek also contradicted Lane Kiffin. Said Kiffen very brief Sunday in meeting on QB decision. Kiffin said meeting extensive #USC

@InsideUSC: Marqise Lee, Devon Kennard and Hayes Pullard spoke at players-only meeting that Lane Kiffin said did not take place #USC

I'm in Vegas this coming weekend and am taking ND. I don't care what the line is.

I feel about the same way about Alabama. The way A&M's defense is playing, Bama might drop 50 on them just to prove a point.

That would be a lot of return touchdowns.

A&M gave up four TDs to Sam Houston State (and not garbage-time ones either). They won't need return TDs.

We still had 4 or 5 starters out on D and 2 of the TD's were big plays. The A&M defense is far from a juggernaut but it should be improved at full strength this Saturday. Besides it's not like Bama lit up VaTech either.

CBS is going to debut a Johnny Manziel cam on Saturday.

So [expletive] stupid. I hope they 86 this idea.

Looking forward to attending my first game of the season. Kyle Field should be rocking. Wish it was a night game.
