I'd just like to get this out of the way now. Over/under on the number of post whinning about ND getting mistreated by the media/refs/NCAA for the yea is set at 100.

If I didn't already like Notre Dame, I would because of weirdos like you

If its weird to dislike a school and fan base with their heads that far up their own asses I don't want to be straight.

The irony of CubinNY hating people with their heads up their own ass is my favorite thing of the day.

I can't believe I am actually defending them, but don't be so quick to dismiss Ole Miss as a quality opponent for Bama. That LSU/UM game in Oxford could be a pretty serious game nationally.

Would much rather that game be played at LSU and not in Oxford. Ole Miss hasn't lost by more than 6 points in Baton Rogue since 1995. All of our beatdowns by LSU have happened in Oxford.

Well, that's dumb.

This could honestly be said about 10-15 programs, couldn't it?

No it isn't. Our previous 5 losses in Oxford have come at an average of 28 points difference.

Our previous 5 losses in Baton Rogue came at an average of 5 points difference.

Ole Miss has a bit of a recent history of playing better on the road than at home. Ole Miss has arguably the premier gameday atmosphere in the country, but because fans are so into that aspect of it, they often are pretty weak actual game fans. Don't make a lot of noise or anything like that.

Are you referencing games from the 90s to prove why it's better to play in a hostile environment on the road rather than a tepid environment at home?

Y

Yep, he is.

Ole Miss has only beaten LSU three times since 2000, so none of those 10 losses I referenced were in the 90's.

Great tailgating does not mean you have a premier gameday atmosphere.

semantics. I'm clearly referring to pregame.

Nope. The domers want to be a singularity and they are. They're just that "special".

Hood decommitted from ND. So the fabulous off-season clearly isn't over yet.

I suppose the next step is Jaylon Smith running out of the tunnel against Temple, and then immediately running back in and transferring.

Raisin, what can you tell me about TJ Millweard? Word is he's transferring and considering KU.

He should be an adequate starter in a year or two though not a star and definitely someone you can recruit over. I have heard he has funky mechanics.

He wasn't going to start over Hundley or true freshman Asiantii Woulard barring injury so it's no surprise he transferred but it's a big blow to QB depth this year.

I've been to a couple of games in Oxford and can attest that pregame in the Grove is something to behold. It is easily the best tailgating I have ever seen anywhere.

Once you get into the stadium though, everyone is so loaded that the game is an afterthought. I am generalizing of course, but just barely. Now that they are good we will see if that changes.

It reminds me of going to the Superdome in the lean years. We knew we were terrible so we might as well get trashed and make it a party. Back when I first got season tickets, the Saints rotated quarterback starts between two Billy Joe's...Holbert and Tolliver. Of course we got wasted.

Posted
Haha, Billy Joe Tolliver, blast from the past. I was just in high school back then so I wasn't getting wasted at those games but everyone else sure seemed to be. Back then it was pretty much inconceivable that a Saints team like our 2009 team would ever exist.

The battling Billy Joes were around the same time Mike Ditka was flipping off the fans walking off the field in the Dome. We had a nice run of successful college QBs who were complete garbage in the pros. Steve Walsh, Danny Awful, Heath Schuler, the battling Billy Joes...

I fully realize that preseason all-conference teams don't matter at all, but it's still pretty funny that the defending Heisman Trophy winner didn't get named to the first-team in his own conference this year.

I hope he gets reminded of that daily. Something tells me Rice is going to get punished for all this offseason nonsense on 8/31. I'd bet the over in that game, whatever it is.

Bob Diaco plays the media like a cheap whore

Irish defensive coordinator Bob Diaco has a more colorful depiction.

“One’s a flat-head screwdriver and one’s a Phillips head screwdriver,” he said, “So when you have a screw that you need to screw in that has a Phillips head, you better grab the Phillips head screwdriver.”
