Sharma saying on Twitter that Bryant is going to Daytona and tonight may be his last in Boise.

#1 prospect?

#2, probably. Bryant dominating the NWL doesn't top what Baez is doing in the Southern League.

Advanced college bats sure are fun though.

I think that's going to be a pretty short "discussion" the powers that be have this week on whether or not to promote Bryant.

The "discussion" was always going to Daytons vs Kane County.

ETA: Hadn't seen the second page, talking about this.

:(

While probably the best for Bryant and the Cubs, personally I am bummed. I really wanted the chance to see him in action. Boise does not come through the Portland area again until the end of the month.

True, number one picks from a University should dominate the NWL.

I actually mean #1 in all of baseball.

Baez is going to Rizzo AAA in the first-half then come up and Andruw Jones the second half and playoffs.

So the Cubs are going to win the first two games of the 2014 world series by a combined score of 16-1 and then lose the next four games? only the cubes.

FWIW

John Arguello ‏@CubsDen 1m

Billy Buck is a huge asset to have at that level. @PaulGerke @BoiseHawks hitting coach Bill Buckner is a big reason KB is still in Boise

@PaulGerke The @BoiseHawks' playoff push is more likely to keep Bryant here through the season. Extra AB's, extra time w/ Buckner. #Cubs

Goes against what Sharma was saying last night.

Might just be wishful thinking on the part of a Boise sports reporter though. I doubt the playoffs would factor into the front office's decision, if that's what he's implying.

Yeah, that would be a weird reason to stop a college player from moving up from short season to A+. That's an important and necessary step, and just keeping him around to enjoy a Boise playoff run is something only a Boise specific homer is going to think about.

Yep. I could maybe understand extra time with Buckner, but even that doesn't make much sense at this point. He is flat out dominating at this stage, there's only so much he could possibly learn at Boise.

And just like that...

According to a variety of reports that appear to have originated with Ryan Larrondo out of Boise (later confirmed by Wayne Randazzo as well as Jesse Rogers), the Cubs’ top pick in the 2013 Draft, and one of the top prospects in the system, Kris Bryant is headed to the Daytona Cubs. For their part, the Cubs aren’t confirming the move just yet, per Bruce Miles.
