Probable Starters

Iowa: LHP Brooks Raley (100.2 IP, 4.29 FIP, 4.83 ERA, 70 K, 36 BB)

Tennessee: RHP Dae-Eun Rhee (19 IP, 4.15 FIP, 1.89 ERA, 13 K, 6 BB)

Daytona: RHP Pierce Johnson* (27 IP, 3.57 FIP, 2.33 ERA, 21 K, 10 BB)

Kane County: RHP Jose Rosario (57 IP, 5.18 FIP, 5.21 ERA, 30 K, 33 BB)

Boise: RHP Tyler Skulina (12 IP, 2.87 FIP, 1.50 ERA, 8 K, 3 BB)

Daytona hasn't announced their starter yet, this is just an educated guess on my part.

Vogelbach is having a big week.....In what has been a big month....in what has been a good second half. The power is down, but he's walking more than he is striking out, which is crazy for a guy with his power.

The KC Manager was also bragging about how much he's improved his defense as well. It does seem like he's at least cleaned up the errors recently.

Interesting stat, Almora's slugging 25 points higher than Vogelbach. (.482/.457).

What's your point?

Don't really have one. Just noticed it as I was perusing the Cougars stat page. I didn't expect that Almora would have such a decent SLG%.

I guess my first thought was that some people were questioning whether or not Almora should be included in the group of power hitting prospects the Cubs are putting together. When I saw that, I thought, why not. I know Vogelbach isn't having his great power-hitting season to date (though he's been heating up lately) so it doesn't really mean that Almora has more power than Vogelbach. It just caught my eye.

headin to Peoria tonight to check out the Cougars. Always enjoy a nice night at a minor league park.

So Rosario has been really fuckin bad tonight you guys. Not exactly a "a couple pitches here and there and he'd have had em sort of a situation".

don't usually see minor league pitchers left in long enough to give up 12 runs.

Baker wasn't terrible, statistically speaking. 3.2 IP, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 K

Pierce piggy backed and was ok. Struck out a ton but got knocked around a bit. 4 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 7K

When I saw Rosario in person, I knew he was garbage.

I fully know what Mike Olt looks like, build wise.....but for some reason for the last 2 years, when ever I read his name I have an image of Kevin Mench (with a normal size head) pop into my brain.

Oh and Baez with a K swinging. 0-4, BB, K. Alcantara flied out. 3-4, BB.
