I'm so sorry McCarver and Buck that a bunch of sports fans got upset when a key piece to the future success of their team (either on it or off it) gets hit with a baseball.

Someone tell this umpire that the corner on Garza's glove side is in fact a real thing.

And that the other corner doesn't extend to the third base dugout.

Hm, so the official scorer is going to stick with the E5 ruling on Castro's second at-bat, isn't he? That puzzles me.

And what a play by Valbuena.

It's very annoying that Anthony Rizzo only has 5 more home runs than Luis Valbuena at the all-star break, even with 100+ more at bats.

ETA: Love that Luis has turned into a solid player, but Rizzo has been disappointing.

Focus then on Rizzo having 15 more doubles.

And, no, I'll continue to say Rizzo has not been disappointing. He's been real solid.

Is Garza OK? He got hit on the elbow with a liner?

No. Got hit with a 72 mph pitch. And he's fine.

It was the left elbow at that.

Pretty awful. Also Martinez got the corner garza can't.

Why? It was a ground ball right at him that he didn't make a play on. That's a pretty easy E5 call.

It was smoked and hit him so hard it bounced into left center field. It was glove side, but that's a really tough play.

McCarver citing that Baez is a better shortstop than Castro due to Castro's prior error totals. Lol. If that's the criteria, take a yonder at Javy's error totals.

Balls hit that hard generally seem to be scored as hits.

Yup. That was a hit. No doubt. It's annoying the crap out of me still.

Not when they're easily playable. That's an error.

Yeah, and apparently the Cubs should look to move Castro to the OF to make room.

And they could not be rooting harder for the Cardinals to score this inning.
