I know he's injured but 50% of the season is done and he has yet to play a single game. Does anyone know the extent of his injury?

Am I beating a dead horse?

The answer to your question is that after Aaron Hernandez shot Castro the Cubs called up Vitters to take his place so as to not take away from the attention on the Blackhawks playoff run.

No, but he did have a setback while rehabbing in Mesa, per the Iowa Cubs beat writer in the Des Moines Register.

they do, click Show Minors

Where is this option? I notice two options for the minors on the MLB player page, but those just bring you to the separate minors page, not both sets of numbers together.

Nevermind, just found it.

Unless I'm missing something, Show Minors is on Fangraphs. BR takes you to a separate page when you click the minors tab.

Instead of starting a new thread: When is Arodys due back? Did he have a shot at getting some rehab starts this year or is he pretty much shut down till next year?

It would be hard for me to find it from my phone, but I believe there was a chance he could see some action next month (obviously if things progress well from here). Sorry in advance if that is off base, but I think that is what I recall.

Reports at the time of his latest procedure said he would not throw a ball for at least 6 weeks. That would be today. Sullivan took heat for saying he was being shut down for the season, but others used the shut down language as well and it is pretty much assumed he will not pitch until the Arizona Fall League.

Vitters played in the Cubs AZL game tonight. He started off the year well drawing more walks than I expected. Walked tonight. I'm interested to see if he can keep this up the rest of the season in AAA. Just stay healthy, dude. He'd make a nice platoon partner with Valbuena next season. Good way to ease him in and see if he can be anything. He's still just 23. Glad to see him back in action.
