Probable Starters

Iowa: LHP Brooks Raley (75 IP, 4.41 FIP, 5.40 ERA, 58 K, 27 BB)

Tennessee: RHP Alberto Cabrera (83.2 IP, 3.52 FIP, 3.76 ERA, 81 K, 32 BB)

Daytona: RHP Pierce Johnson (at Kane County: 69.2 IP, 2.98 FIP, 3.10 ERA, 74 K, 22 BB)

Boise: RHP Trey Lang (4 IP, 3.70 FIP, 9.00 ERA, 5 K, 2 BB)

DSL Cubs: RHP Juan Paniagua (4.1 IP, 2.28 FIP, 0.00 ERA, 5 K, 2 BB) & RHP Jeffry Hernandez (11 IP, 4.02 FIP, 3.27 ERA, 6 K, 6 BB)

If I had to guess for the AZL Cubs, I suspect it would be 2012 5th rounder Anthony Prieto getting the start.

@BoiseHawks RHP Paul Blackburn has been named #NWL Pitcher of the Week for June 14-23...had a 0.00 ERA and 12 K in 10.0 IP

Pretty excited for Pierce's debut.

Absolutely! Anyone know anything about Bruno's injury? 7-day DL for much longer than that.

Not sure where you got Cabrera's hits from.

Some pitching notes from the lower levels:

- Juan Paniagua did not pitch as scheduled. Doubt it means anything.

- Trey Lang is, so far, having a very nice bounce back start. 4 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 5/3 GO/FO

Paniagua wasn't scheduled to pitch; there's no schedule for the rookie leagues. It was a guess on my part.

Be worried if he doesn't pitch in the next two days.

Alberto Cabrera is in Tennessee.

Also, the Cubs have 6 capable MLB starters on the roster right now.

Is there any particular reason that Alberto Cabrera is still in Iowa? I certainly hope it has nothing to due with the mopes in their current rotation.

hahahhahahahahhahaha

If he didn't, my first thought would be he's coming to the states, so I wouldn't even be worried then. Though, I doubt that's going to happen anytime soon.

I meant why isn't he in Iowa. Was too busy trying to make myself care about the Blackhawks at the time. Obvious reasons why he's not on big league club.
