Twitter is saying that Darnell McDonald left the Iowa game and didn't appear to be hurt, so they're speculating he's on call for replacing DeJesus.

To play baseball?

I'm surprised you haven't been clamoring for his call-up

Mooney says they're considering another bullpen arm for now, which really makes sense than bringing up another OF. McDonald makes sense as a stop gap though, he's right handed so he at least stands a chance at getting some plate appearances.

If you want a right-handed OF, you might as well go with Sappelt who is already on the 40-man.

Pretty fun game for Boise so far.

Tomorrow is going to be an amazing pitching day. Hendricks, Maples, and Blackburn.

Well the .617 SLG is pretty exciting. Oh, wait. That's his OPS.

Pugliese had decent peripherals last year in Boise. Hoping he dominates and gets bumped up. Pretty sure I remember reports of him being a low to mid 90's guy.

Yep, that's what he was throwing last year.

I'm still disappointed he isn't at Kane County this season. I think he can get bumped up as the college arms in the first 10 rounds sign and get to Boise.

I'm disappointed too, but, didn't he end the season rather roughly last year? Thought he started strong, then the league caught up to him.

You're right. But his stats at extended spring training this year certainly were good enough to earn a promotion to Kane County (2.10 ERA, 9.3 K/9, 3.4 K/BB). He certainly deserved it more than Dillon Maples.

Frandy De La Rosa played today, but more importantly...

Juan Paniagua pitched.

Pretty sad what passes as "an amazing pitching day" for the Cubs these days...

Though oddly, the fact that Juan Paniagua pitched today authentically made this an amazing pitching day today for me. So what the [expletive] am I talking about...?

And yet in our system that's about as good as it gets.

Awesome. MILB is a jerk for having him listed as a Boise Hawk. Way to rub it in.

MLB article says Sweeney will be getting the bulk of the work

More importantly, there's still a glimmer of hope that he could be a 4th/5th OF going forward. McDonald is just a guy who plays for a AAA baseball team until they decide that someone from AA is ready to take his spot.

Good news, I guess, but partly bad too. I'd hoped there was something else going on, that he was too old for the league or something.

This would seem to confirm that he's been not playing because he's been injured.
